| This issue has been in debate for years now. Are school students getting too much homework? I read a news article recently, and it got me thinking. As a freshman, I get 2 hrs. of homework on average every night (sometimes less, more often I get more), which turns into anywhere between 3 and 7 hours on the weekend. I end up tossing away time to sleep, spend time with family, and have fun. Is this too much? Not just me, but everywhere. The big question is about students of all grades and ages (K through 12 basically) these days getting way too much homework. | |

| I don't really get homework anymore, I get assignments for each module which is a good method (especially since it replaces exams), but at senior school (which was a private girls school in Windsor, if that makes any difference) I used to get homework after practically every lesson (particuarly English), and on top of that I had to study for my GCSEs. It did get pretty tiring. I mean, I get why we have homework, the teachers don't want us to forget what we learned in lessons, but that doesn't mean that they have to pile it all up on us. |

| I'm a sophomore, and I usually get 2-4 hours of written homework a night, plus studying for any tests or quizzes. I go to a more college-prep-oriented school where the curriculum is purposefully made harder, so I'm kinda used to it and don't care LOL. If you go to my school, you learn how to BS homework REAL fast xD |

| Most nights, I get at least an hour of homework a night. Normally I get about two hours. I agree that it does ruin my social life and make it stressful and hard to sleep. I personally believe that going home is a way of getting away from school, not having to take it with me, so do not enjoy doing homework. I think homework should only be given if you waste time in class and don't do the work in class. I sometimes work during recess and lunch in an attempt to get some work done. |

| It's work from school that you do at home. It could be an assignment or test revision. It normally depends on what grade you're in when at school. Most people don't normally get homework until the thrid grade. |

| There's no homework in France? You better get used to it then, because it almost seems I do more work at home than at school. | |

| For me it's slightly more than 7 hours, not including the time it takes to get there and back. | |

| I think, if we should have homework, it sould only be 1 hour or slightly more. I agree that we learn at school and only scool, then at home we talk with friends, and do extra curriculars. Some people actually want to do more than be stuck in books all day! And to learn in school to begin with, we need enough sleep, which means not so much work. I do get lots of homework, but it's gotten better. |

| Yeah Yoshkat. We used to get books and little activities to read before about third grade. Then we got assignments and spelling tests and all that. |

| I remember homework from as early as kindergarten! But, the school and district I went to then was and still is screwed up, so maybe that accounts for something.
@Tikk-Tokk- Sorry if you took that the wrong way. I meant the amount of work I do seems to be done more at home than school, since at school we usually just get lectures and quizes. | |
