Dane- A new Rover

Name- Dane

Age- Two years and eleven months

Gender- Male

Description-
Dane is a larger meerkat than most height wise, but otherwise he's sleek and lacks much muscle depth to him. His coat is a deep brown with stripes of an even darker contrast, and his entire tail being an even darker shade than his stripes. His eyes resemble the Kalahari sky, which is simply his most attractive feature. Females often notice his eyes first before everything else. He has a slightly lighter shade of underbelly and paws, but his muzzle is matching shade with his tail. His unique appearance makes him very attractive and an overall handsome look to him. He does, however, bear eviction scars on his tailbase, and there's a long scar on his neck. He conceals both of these marks with mud, as he believes females will find him unattractive. 

Personality- He's good looking and he knows it. He's very cocky and a smart ass, often thinking of himself better than others. It takes a lot to get close to him- he knows his personality often drives meerkats away, but it doesn't bother him. He's been a rover for some time now, and he doesn't need to form long lasting bonds. He sees them as pointless- in the end, you only end up with pain. He's a witty rover, but is also picky- he won't just take any female. For him, she can't have a lightly colored pelt or blue eyes because it reminds him too much of someone. He's extremely stubborn and hot-headed, and is just a little too feisty for his own good- he's been known to fight back against males trying to chase him away before. He'll always promise the female he'll return and they can start a mob together- does he? No. Usually by then he's long gone.

History- Dane was born into the third litter of the DuneRunners dominants Destonia and Prancer. It was a litter of two, him and the runt Dizzy Daisy. He grew very protective of her from the start, and more so when their next litter of siblings was born and Destonia forgot all about her weaker child. He'd often give up his findings for her in hopes she'd grow to be his size, or at least fill out. It always worried him that she was too small. After a year and a half in the family, Dane left with his older brothers on his first roving trip and failed miserably. The Thunderheads chased him away and killed his brother while gravelly wounding the other. When they returned Destonia renamed her son Sightless for he could no longer see out of his left eye. Enraged, Sightless left, but was eventually discovered dead. The DuneRunners are named after their constant moving- dunes cover most of their territory, and they would often relocate several times in a month, pups or not. Destonia and Prancer were both fierce but neurotic leaders. Eventually he tried to avenge Sightless and Ollie, but was once again chased away. Dane returned to the burrow and found that they had moved yet again- so he just kept roving. For around four months he kept trying, and eventually got better and better at the art. But once he saw a female with the same creamy yellow pelt and blue eyes as Dizzy Daisy, he returned to the territory and tracked down the family. he found them right at the right moment- their mother was evicting a month pregnant Dizzy Daisy. He found her and promised he would stay until she found others to start her own family. They didn't think they were in danger as the DuneRunners hadn't ventured to this part of the territory after a brutal battle with the Thunderheads whom had now been lost. However, Destonia somehow found them, and saw Dizzy Daisy had four others besides Dane with her, and attacked and killed her. The four other meerkats joined the DuneRunners, as they were now the most feared mob in the area with the fall of the Thunderheads. Dane, enraged, attacked his mother, but Prancer easily overpowered his son and pulled him off. The scars are from his father. Since then he's traveled far and wide, but will never, ever forget what his family did. He never wants to join a mob again- roving is the style for him. Anyone he's ever grown close to has been killed.
