This is something I love... The backshot I assume is when he first sees the future, his first sunset... I don't know for sure, because it's from the anime, and it's in Japanese. I'm so happy I found it! (video at the end of post) I'm hoping to translate it so all of you can understand it... :')
The quote is something he tells Dusknoir in the Secret Episode, "In The Future of Darkness". It shows why he sacrifices his life to save the world.
