Life History - 23rd of September

TK: Most of the group emerge and wait patiently in the morning’s sun for dominant female Morning Glory to surface. Sanders is below ground wanting to try and reach the surface again but is stopped by his adoptive mother. Va notices him trying to escape and starts forming a plan to take him away from the burrow to her father Gahdok in the Blizzards. With suspicions raised, Va walks away from the group to stalk some young ground squirrels. Morning Glory leaves the burrow and makes lead calls for the group to go out foraging.
Letting the baby ground squirrel that she had caught go, Va heads back to the burrow and makes an attempt to grab Sanders. Hoping to use the idea that she was going to help Sanders find his missing brother, Va picks up Sanders and starts to head out of the burrow complex.
Caught in the act by Antabellum, she sends out an alarm call and all the Tiny Kats but Morning Glory rush back to the burrow and pin Va to the floor.
With Sanders safe, the group emerge back on the surface and realise that the dominant female never made it back to the burrow. Frantically they all begin calling and searching around for Morning Glory.
Confused that no one is answering her contact calls, Morning Glory continues to walk deeper into the territory and spots an unfamiliar group of wild meerkats foraging on the side of a dune. Unknown to her they are her natal family group she tries to get closer to them. Signalling danger with an alarm call both Morning Glory and the wild group flee in opposite directions and the Tiny Kat’s dominant female takes shelter in a bolt hole.
Still distressed about missing Morning Glory, Karma heads out from the burrow to start a search party with Faeya and Nimbus.
With the danger avoided, Morning Glory leaves the bolt hole and wanders confused back towards the burrow. Tisca and Antabellum join the search group whilst Pamela stays back at the burrow babysitting the pups. Having climbed up a tree to gain a better vantage point, Antabellum falls and badly injures her leg. The group notice the problem and stay with the injured meerkat whilst still calling out for Morning Glory. On her journey back, Morning Glory hears the groups contact calls and finds her way back towards the group.
As Nimbus and Stratus rush to greet Morning Glory, Karma helps Antabellum back to the burrow followed by Bahiya. After a joyous reunion and a short family grooming session, Pamela notices a young pup approaching the group.
Nimbus leads the group and young pup Aaron back to the burrow to join up with the other members of the family. Tisca observes the young pup who has taken a fond liking to her and maternal Karma is keen to help raise him. With all the group accounted for the Tiny Kats retire into their sleeping burrow for the night.

MN: The group slowly emerges from their sleeping chamber and Eztli notices that Black Widow is not amongst the group. She has just awoken and emerged from a bolt hole deep in the Midnights territory and has no intentions of going back to see Irwin or the rest of the Midnight family. Young pup Zozane is still ignoring Nakpana and the rest of the pups are active and lively. In an early morning display of dominance, Teetsie evicts Dawn and Irwin follows her away from the group although Darwin decides not to follow his brother. Out in the open, wanderer Black Widow encounters lone roving male Rahkshi, the first son of Makuta. The pair get to know each other and Black Widow finds herself attracted to the mystery male.
Meanwhile Teetsie has led the group out foraging and is on the edge of the group when she is approached by former dominant male Lithium. Eztil spots Lithium and sounds the alarm, which in turn grabs current dominant male Bahrag’s attention. Overjoyed to see his family again, Lithium chirps to the surprisingly large family hoping that they would accept him.
Bahrag asserts his dominance over the former dominant Lithium but he doesn’t back down and a fight begins to break out between the two. Teestie shows little interest in Lithium’s return as she is already pregnant with another males pups and chooses to side with Bahrag to win the fight. Shocked by his former mate’s choice, Lithium walks away, depressed into the grass. The Willows mob enters the Midnight’s territory searching for their pups and babysitters. Black Widow and Rahkshi wander in the direction of the Willows babysitting group. Back at the main group Darwin had hoped that Lithium would overthrow Bahrag as he isn’t very keen on the Midnight’s new dominant male. Black Widow attacks a goshawk and leaves it wandering dazed on the sand and Rahkshi finishes it off. The pair continue to show each other their hunting techniques.
Teetsie leads the Midnights back to their sleeping burrow whilst evicted females Mae and Dawn watch them head home. Mae leads the evictees to a disused bolt hole and encounters the Willows splinter group taking shelter inside of it. Mae and Click enter the burrow and encounter Lancaster but no harm breaks out and the two small groups spend the night in the bolt hole together. Rahkshi spends the night in another bolt hole under a camel thorn tree with Black Widow.


WW: Up bright and early, Buckeye is one of the first awake after Jackie and Snowflake. Followed shortly by the rest of the Willows except Lancaster who is loyally staying by injured Josephine.
In a nearby bolt hole lone male meerkat Leon and his young daughter Megan have already surfaced and begin making their way back towards the burrow. Tank spots the new arrivals and alerts the group whilst Snowflake ventures forward to greet them. After a short round of greetings from the subordinate Willows, another lone meerkat approaches the group this time a female named Evyenne seeking shelter within a family unit. At first Tank is suspicious that the female is part of a larger group but eventually comes around when he finds out she is all alone. After accepting all three newcomers into the group, dominant female Buckeye leads the group out to forage.
Having the strength to leave the burrow, Josephine makes it to the surface with Lancaster and offers to stay behind and babysit even in her weakened condition.
Buckeye leads the Willows to a water trough for a drink and after Jackie accidently being knocked in by Snowflake the group take a rest with several members going on sentry duty.
Rover Lucky spots the relaxing group and makes his approach looking for lone females whilst rover Midnight Dusk has entered the territory after having left the Unknowns.
Bored with group foraging Maylene wanders away from the group but Tank is persistent to act as her bodyguard. Back at the burrow young pup Glade is eager for adventure and pesters the babysitters Josephine and Lancaster to lead them on a short trip away from the burrow.
Buckeye leads the group back out foraging hoping to find the missing Willows. In the new area Maylene wanders away from the group hoping to be away from Tank, Tank finds a large honey badger sett and starts to explore inside of it only to find its owner that starts to attack him. All the Willows in the foraging party help with the return attack on the honey badger including Lucky who has returned hoping to win a mate a different way.
Maylene runs off with Lucky to a bolt hole where the pair tenderly groom each other then mate before leaving and returning to attack the honey badger. After killing the honey badger, Tank wardances towards Lucky for stealing Maylene’s affections joined shortly by Linda. Both try and chase off Lucky but a small fight breaks out and Maylene accidently rams into Tank before biting Lucky’s tail. Lucky retreats away after yet another scrap with Tank, Maylene and Linda and retires for the day in a bolt hole.
Away from the burrow Lancaster encounters a snake in a hollow tree and starts to mob it, keeping Josephine and the pups away from the danger. Concerned for Lancaster’s safety Josephine calls him away from the fallen tree and Lancaster immediately moves the vulnerable group away into Midnight territory.
Dusk arrives at the empty sleeping burrow and begins to scent mark it shortly accompanied by Lucky. Linda shows concern for Tank as Buckeye leads the group back to the burrow. All the group are eager to return to the pups unbeknown to them they are out resting in the shade of a tree.
As the group return to the burrow, Buckeye become distressed that the pups and babysitters are missing and even though dusk is drawing in she forms a search party. Both rovers Lucky and Dusk follow the Willows in the direction of the Midnight’s territory. Realising it’s getting late Lancaster and Josephine each pick up a pup and take it in turn to carry them to find shelter for the night. The small party cross a dry river bed and get ambushed by aerial predators but luckily escape without coming to any harm. Not having any luck finding the missing Willows members, Buckeye and Keeko find a disused burrow in the enemy territory and begin marking it as their own. The stress of losing and gaining members is starting to trouble the dominant female.
Lancaster finds the group a large bolt hole for the small Willows group to spend the night in which they end up sharing with the Midnights evictees group.
B: Over the last few days Enigma has overthrown Cyan for the dominant position and now leads the Blizzards with new mate Tokala as former dominant male Snowstorm never rejoined the group. Both Cyan and Casper are annoyed at the outcome but still remain loyal to the rest of the family. Cyan tries to start a fight with Enigma but the new dominant female puts the subordinate female back in her place with a firm hip slam, Cyan retaliates by charging at Tokala. Casper joins in with the charge hoping to chase off Tokala but the male stands strong and a fight soon breaks out. Cyanide joins in the fray. Desperate to end the long fight Tokala spots a vulture and starts making pretend alarm calls which briefly stops the two adults attacking him but not young Cyanide who continues to bite his back. Cyan, Casper and Cyanide charge at Tokala and forcefully attack again as Gahdok watches disappointedly from the sidelines. Enigma finally interrupts the fight by hipslamming Cyan, swatting Casper and kicking Cyanide before issuing lead calls for the group to go foraging. Casper holds back from attacking Enigma but Cyanide is determined to have another go at annoying Tokala. Cyan makes an attack at Enigma but Enigma just ignores her.
The group begin to forage even though the tension is still high between the two sets of dominants. Cyan and Casper think the current leaders are weak but they don’t know that Enigma has mated with Tokala and carries her own set of pups. Cyanide wanders away from the group but is quickly brought back to the group by her adoptive father Casper.
A lone wild male Belcheri had been watching Cyanide hoping to make a meal out of her approaches the group. Tokala accepts Belcheri into the group unaware that he wants to kill Cyanide.
The Blizzards continue foraging and all members slightly concerned about the new male’s actions. Being protective of Cyanide, Cyan tackles Belcheri hoping to teach him a lesson.
Enigma ignores the fight that broke out and leads the group back towards the sleeping burrow.

DV: Unusually late waking up this morning, the Devils take it easy and rest underground. Psycho is the first to surface and proceeds to make the most of the warming sun whilst contemplating ways she can take over the group. Bohrok is next to surface followed by Dash who has ideas to attack the neighbours for a taste of blood. Bored, Bohrok sees the male leave and follows him out into the desert heading towards the Reapers.
Dominant female Juamba emerges whilst the young pups underground fight with Rafoni. Paranoid Schemes gets bored of torturing her younger brother and plots how she can get her revenge on Iblis. Dominant male Simmons emerges and spends most of the time cleaning the dirt that had accumulated around the burrow mouth. Two roving males enter the Devils territory and make their way towards the group. Reaper makes the first move to make contact with the Devils members whilst Nero hangs back slightly.
Schemes escapes the confines of the burrow and watches the males approach from the burrow’s mouth. Bohrok and Dash watch the two meerkats from away from the burrow and make their return from having attacked the Reapers.
Two further wild meerkats from outside the research area Quagmire and Grishka enter the Devils territory hoping to get lucky with a female or two. Simmons barks asserting his status and then proceeds to wardance towards the new group of roving males.
Dash sees the opportunity and charges for Grishka who hasn’t spotted him causing a small fight to break out. Both Quagmire and Grishka escape badly wounded and Dash turns his rampage towards rover Reaper. Dash starts up another fight as the other male Nero makes himself known to the group.
Reaper flees the fight and heads back out of Devils territory as Dash switches his focus and attacks Nero. Young pup Jezebel joins her sister Schemes at the mouth of the burrow to watch the fight unfold. Dash eventually decides enough is enough and leaves the group. With Dash gone Nero starts to scent mark the area hoping to assert his dominance which causes dominant male Simmons to do the same. A display for the dominant position quickly breaks out between the two males. With both males exhausted and injured no real outcome is decided and Juamba makes lead calls to head back to the burrow. Annoyed that Dash has left, Bohrok goes into a state of anger and attacks dominant female Juamba which causes another fight to break out between Nero, Simmons, Psycho and the original two females. No final outcome of the fight observed.
Z: All the young pups except Chetana have now emerged from the burrow. With all the adults sunning themselves on the surface, Lewa and Alfonso begin to play tag. The pup’s game gets out of hand and Lewa and Alfonso wander away from the group. Concerned subordinate females Arrow, Peachy and Faith call out to the pups and eventually both return to the safety of the group. Dominant female Running Star makes lead calls and heads the group out to go foraging. Lewa’s playful antics amuse the group as they all forage happy and contentedly.
Having left the Reapers, Flurry and Sugar attempt to approach the group and are quickly spotted by Arrow. Both new arrivals are accepted into the group by the dominant pair but Arrow doesn’t warm to Sugar as she smells like Rex a former member of the Stargazers. Alfonso’s confidence continues to grow now that is sister Cyanide is no longer around to bully him. It is presumed that after a quiet foraging trip all the Zippers return to the burrow, happy and contented.


OR: Group moral is still low at the Oreo burrow; Alex is concerned about his brother Luke’s health whilst his pups are worried about the other pups that were taken by the Reapers. Over the last few days Ussal Crab has disappeared from the burrow to find Mikeyal and dominant male Joey mated with Starburst. Reaper Rex enters the territory with young Akina and lets her return to be with the Oreos before leaving. Nearby lone female Carnation leaves the safety of her bolt hole and goes foraging on her own after letting Mikeyal go looking for Akina on her own.
The group are relieved to see Akina safe and Carnation wanders close to the group.
Lone female Navajo approaches the group and is accepted by dominant female Starburst. As the group get to know fiery Navajo, nervous Carnation bolts from the edge of the group before she can be accepted. Starburst and Akina call out to Carnation to return and Starburst accepts her into the family.
Akina notices her elder sister Mikeyal missing and Starburst explains to Carnation about what happened after the Reapers attacked.
Dominant male Joey questions his relationship with dominant female Starburst and whether or not she still has feelings for subordinate Luke. PK, Flare and Akina try and cheer up Joey.
Hershey, Carnation and Akina decide to stay back at the burrow and babysit the newborns as Starburst leads the group out to forage.
Former Reaper members Zola and Rex enter the Oreo territory and are spotted by Joey. Both new comers are accepted into the group by the dominant pair although Hershey is concerned that they were once members of the Reapers that stole the pups.
As the Oreos aren’t foraging that far from the burrow, Joey spots a rover on the horizon. Boomer makes his way towards the babysitting burrow.
Boomer spots Carnation but startles Akina. Carnation tries to protect Akina and Boomer leaves true to his word. Having quite liked the rover, Carnation allows him to stay and protect the burrow. Malnourished Turahn isn’t so warming to the new arrival due to his past history. Due to his condition, Carnation offers Turahn a beetle larvae which he reluctantly eats to get it over with. He’d rather put the group before himself. Injured Luke rests under a bush in the shade as the group continues to forage, slowly joining back up at the burrow with the babysitters.
Carnation and Akina keep Luke company and tend to his wounds. Carnation finds Luke attractive.


RR: All the group emerge from the burrow, Akina wants to go home back to the Oreos and Gukko Bird isn’t too fond of their company either. A small fight breaks out between Gukko Bird, Inle and Akina. Rex breaks up the fight but dominant female Stormy picks up Akina and tosses her away from the group.
In consequence of her actions, Rex jumps at Stormy but she kicks him off of her. Zola picks up Akina and with Rex they leave the Reapers group. Appalled by Stormy’s leadership, Butterscotch leaves following the others.
Zola leaves Akina at the edge of Oreo territory and Rex carries her deeper in to find the group. Butterscotch heads in the direction of the Unknowns.
Inle has taken Gukko Bird his prisoner but Sugar tries to intervene. Young Oreo pups Mikeyal and Ussul Crab arrive at the Reapers group looking for Akina and Gukko Bird.
Devil members Bohrok and Dash watch the movements of the group for the perfect moment to attack. Stormy notices Bohrok and the pair attack the Reapers dominant female. All Reapers members attack the intruders even Zola and Rex who appeared back at the group. After causing distress, chaos and destruction Bohrok and Dash leave the group heading back towards their own territory.
Tired of the attitude of the group, Sugar and Flurry leave the group heading towards the Zippers. Rex and Zola leave the group again. Lone male meerkats HF and Taipan appear on the edge of the group hoping to join. Both are eventually accepted.


UK: All members of the small splinter group emerge from the burrow and begin to sun themselves. Lithium and Dusk are feeling the strain living under Sidorak’s rule. Lone Reaper female Butterscotch attempts to join the group and is accepted by dominant female Cheyenne. Rover Dominic enters the territory looking for female company. Sidorak notices Dominic and kicks sand over him.
Leaf leaves the safety of the group to make an early start at foraging whilst being watched by Dominic. Lithium finally decides to leave the group and head back towards the Midnights followed by Dusk who is first heading towards the Willows to try a spot at roving.
Cheyenne makes lead calls for the group to head out and forage, with all members following her except Leaf and rover Dominic. Leaf mates with Dominic but Butterscotch and Sidorak notice the female missing. Leaf urges Dominic to flee the scene if he didn’t want to get caught by Sidorak.
Cheyenne catches up to Leaf, aggressively growls at her before hipslamming her back into her place.
Dominic leaves the territory and crosses over into Blizzards.
All members ignore Leaf for the rest of the foraging trip.
