Roleplay - 29th of October

Sandy finally dared to look. Both Carnation and the jackal were gone. She asssumed they were fighting out of the burrow. She hoped her babysitter was okay.

The jackal, named Blood, got stunned from the pain. He fell over. If Carnation wasn't swift enough to let go, Blood could crush her.

Carnation retracks her claws and teeth from the jackal's muzzle and neck. She goes for his throat and clamps her small jaws on the jackal's throat, biting down hard and trying to put pressure on the wind pipe.

Blood yelped as if to give in just before Carnation's jaws broke his windpipe. The jackal was now at mercy of the meerkat. What will Carnation choose for Blood: Mercy or Death?

Carnation tightens her grip on the jackal's throat. She doesn't exactly have it in her heart to kill, no matter how vicious or dangerous a predator is, she'll choose to let the predator live another day, just as long as it never returns to harm Sandy, her or the rest of the Oreos. Carnation releases her grip on the jackal's throat then barks sounding the fiercest she's ever sounded but did she make a fatal mistake by letting go?

Blood retret under a bush.

Another dog-like figure appeared. It was Blood's mate, Princess. This pregnant female jackal did not look happy. Her pup were due any moment now, and a burrow, sadly, was the nearest shelter. Princess watched as Blood retret. She then looked back at Carnation and growled. What a stubborn meerkat!

Carnation stands up on her hind legs standing tall in confidance as it seems she has triumphed over the jackal all by herself. To make things clear that she doesn't want him around, she wardances towards the jackal but when the jackal's mate appears she breaks short and backs up becoming nervous but decides to stand her ground.

When she realized that Carnation was still holding her ground, Princess barked. Should she risk her unborn pups for a fight. Then she smirked. It was just a meerkat. With pups about to be born, she charged towards Carnation, making sure the meerkat didn't target her belly or her muzzle and neck.

Carnation suddenly froze. She doesn't stand a chance against 2 jackals let alone one all on her own. If she chooses to fight them both, she has a high risk of being killed in less than a minute but if she retreats into the burrow, the jackals could easily choose to work together to dig out her and Sandy, claim them as a meal than steal the burrow. Carnation backs half way into the already damaged burrow entrance unsure of what to do. She only has seconds to make a decision otherwise they'll be on her ripping her to shreds in seconds.

Princess paused and waited for the meerkat's descision impatiently. She had pups at stake!

After recovering, Blood stood alongside his mate, growling, eager to get revenge on Carnation.

Sandy heard growling and peeped, scared.

Carnation looks back and forth between the jackal couple. It's obvious she doesn't doesn't stand a chance. She has made her decision and dashes back into the burrow. She moves to the deepest chamber where Sandy is and cuddles her protectively. All they can do is hope for the return of the Oreos in time to chase off the jackals. But will they be too late?

Princess feels her pups coming and rushes into the burrow. They will deal with the meerkat and pup later.

Blood dug into the burrow, making it wider for a comfortable spot for his mate to give birth.

Sandy stayed close to Carnation, who she sometimes thought of her as an older sister.

ooc: I don't think a jackal could fit into a meerkat burrow, it's too small. You could have them dig Carnation and Sandy out then have the jackals chase them off. Then the jackals can make the burrow the way they want it to be:) Just a suggestion. I was thinking that could be a plot. Carnation and Sandy lose the burrow and will later end up meeting up with the rest of the Oreos.

Carnation keeps her arms protectively wrapped around Sandy. She's starting to like this pup and thinks of her as being her younger sister.

Watching her pups, Acacia decides to try calling to them.

Smudge and Mellow Yellow hear her calls and recognise them, stopping their play to try and find where she is.

ooc: Ok, sounds good. Forget the other post i did, then.

ooc: It's ok.

Carnation sneers at the tunnel that leads up to the burrow entrance. She knows that she and Sandy could soon be jackal food and there's nothing they can do but wait and hope for the return of the Oreos.

Princess and Blood dug at the burrow furiously.

Sandy sighed. They almost had no hope now. The jackals were closing in. Despite jackal's strong scent, by the time The Oreos realized, it would be too late.

Carnation grit her teeth then curled her lip. It's over. The jackals will have them clenched in their fangs within a matter of minutes. The Oreos won't be here in time to save them. She lowers her head then nuzzles Sandy trying make herself and the pup as comfortable as possible but she can't help it as she shakes uncontrollably from fear. She fears that she and Sandy are about to be killed. It won't matter if they try to fight back. The jackals will easily over power them any way.

Sandy chirped sadly, preparing to die.

The two jackals worked together not only to ruin The Oreo's burrow, but to finally dig out Sandy and Carnation. They were now in sight of the predators.

Carnation lets out a horrified blood curdling squeal. In fear for Sandy's and her own life, she picks up the pup gently by the scruff and runs as fast as her legs can take her. She trips several times and fights to stay on her feet as she makes a paniced dash. She refuses to look over her shoulder, frightened that what she may see are the blood thirsty jackals chasing after them.

Sandy craned her neck while Carnation was carrying her to look back. Blood and Princess weren't chasing after them, but were standing at the burrow, howling in triumph. Sandy would not dare come back if her life depended on it.

Carnation can hear the jackal couple howling in triumph. The Oreos are going to be ticked once they find out the main burrow was distroyed then stolen by a pair of jackals. But carnation could care less about the burrow. She cares more about her and Sandy getting away alive and finding the Oreos group.

Sandy tried her best to look around, since it was hard to to exactly that when an adult meerkat was carrying you by the scruff. She whimpered. Were they lost again?

Carnation slows down to a trot. The muscles in her legs are burning and so are her lungs. She finally plucks up the courage to glance over her shoulder. To her relief it appears the jackal couple aren't chasing after them but in their frantic run for safty, they've once again ended up in unknown territory.

Sandy saw a large shadow of a bird and let out an alarmed peep, but realized it was just a vulture. It was a good thing it wasn't a predator, because they were done with predators for today. Still, Sandy remained to be jumpy.

Carnation also saw the shadow of the bird and jumped. She shakes as she hears Sandy let out an alarmed peep but as she sees it's only a vulture, she calms down but remains on edge. Now that they're in unknown territory, it may just be worth it to be on high alert.
