Alex was awake, but he remained in the burrow. He had hardly left Hershey's side, worried something will happen to her.

Starburst rose, hip-slamming Alex. She was in a ferocious temper. Hershey was next to rise. She went to Alex and ebgan to groom him. With both females' pups due soon, it looked like the group was heading in the direction of a civil war.

Alex growled quietly, so Starburst wouldn't hear. He groomed Hershey back.

Hershey stayed close to Alex. Starburst called for the group to follow. She was getting very big, and very tempermental.

Alex groomed Hershey. Everything would be alright.
Luke followed alongside Starburst.

Starburst stopped to groom Luke. Hershey took up centry duty.

Luke groomed Starburst back.
Alex sat by Hershey for a minute, before begining to forage.

Hershey groomed Alex. Starburst saw this, and quickly attacked Hershey. She bit the base of her tail, and then resumed foraging. Hershey was now marked.

Alex jumped back as Starburst attacked Hershey. He wanted to protect Hershey, but attacking Starburst would just make things worse.
Luke watched, frowning. He didn't like it when Starburst was so violent.

Starburst growled and then resumed foraging. It was needed if this small group had any chance of surviving. She led the small gang further into their territory in serarch of more food and a new burrow.

Luke nodded, at least with two litters on the way there would be lots of pups.
Alex growled. He didn't think it was nesecsary, but he kept his head down and stuck close to Hershey.

ooc: Aww XP Alex and Hershey are cute.

Haha i know they seem like the perfect couple, almsot like a Romeo and Juliet!

As they searched for food and shelter, Starburst kept an eye out for her small gang. Hershey also helped, anything that would keep her in the group long enough to have her pups.

Alex chirped to the others. He had spotted a burrow, and it looked empty. He went over to investigate.
Luke followed, sniffing the air. He couldn't smell anything dangerous.

Hershey examined the burrow. It looked like the perfect place to give birth. Starburst thought so too, and after hip-slamming her subordinate, began to clean out the entrance.

Alex sat by the burrow mouth, scanning the area.
Luke started to clear the burrow mouth, occasionally looking up every now and then to chack the skies.

With the reovations done, Starburst took a minute to examine the area. It was time to forage again. She made lead calls, but Hershey didn't follow. She decided to stay home and rest at the burrow.

Alex looked at Hershey, and stopped, not wanting to leave without her.
Seeing his brother stop, Luke also stopped, looking at Starburst and then Alex.

Hershey went below ground. Starburst was still hungry, and she needed as many members as possible if her pups were to survive. She continued her lead calls.

Alex chirped to Luke. You go foraging. I'll stay with Hershey.
Luke flicked his tail, not liking the idea, but turned around and bounded after Starburst.

Joey padded forward. He had seen a group in the distance, and was going to make his move. He slunk low in the grass careful, not to be detected. As Joey got closer, his eyes fell upon a lone female meerkat. Something told Joey it was the Dominant Female. He slunk forward, keeping low in the grass until he found her. This was his chance... if there was a Dominant Male, Joey would attempt to overthrow him.

Luke had picked up Joey's scent. He scanned the area, feeling vulnerable since Hershey and Alex stayed at the burrow. He ran to Starburst's side, growling at whoever was there.

Joey growled back and burst from the bushes, jumping straight onto Luke's back and sinking his claws into his back while aiming a bite at his shoulder. Joey was a skilled meerkat, but he had no idea if the meerkat had more skill then he did. But Joey would just have to risk it if he wanted to be Dominant.

Luke hissed in pain and shock. He twisted, hoping to dislodge Joey, but it only made his wounds worse. He tore free of Joey, causing long, large wounds on his back in the process. He backed away a little, glaring at Joey, but unwilling to fight again, he crouched down in submission.

ooc: Could I adopt one of Hershey's pups? Which one, as usual, will go undecided.

Also, would it be possible to play Starburst again? Or would the current player like to keep her?

Joey raised his paw at Luke to attack again, only to lower it when he sees Luke has given in. Smirking Joey hipslams Luke and pads over to Starburst and quickly scent marks her. Joey does the same to the rest of the group. He has become Dominant.
