Roleplay - 29th of October

Linda gets back to foraging. She's still hungry, and she needs to eat more. She digs near the burrow, hoping to find food.

Lancaster stands back up on his hind legs and resumes sentry duty. A small break of grooming helped to calm him down enough to stay focused.

Lavender watches Lancaster perform sentry duty with keen interest. Another improtant duty she's always been interested in learning is being one of the group's security gaurds. She cares dearly for her Willows family and wants to help keep them safe and secure.

Linda starts to dig. She smells something underground, and she can't afford to pass it up.

Lancaster notices Lavender watching him in the corner of his eye and looks to her with a smile. He can tell she's interested in wanting to learn the ropes of sentry duty. If so, he'd be happy to give her a few pointers.

Lavender peeps. She'd like to learn how to correctly perform sentry duty.

Linda digs up a millipede. She sets it down on the ground and goes back into the hole. She smells something else.

Lavender stands up on her hind legs and balances herself on her tail. She tilts her head to the side then looks to her right. She doesn't exactly stay focused to the task on hand and ends up getting easily distracted by the beautiful wild life and landscape around her.

Lancaster barks, getting Lavender's attention. The most important thing about sentry duty is that you must always stay focused. An unwary meerkat could be seen as an easy target for a predator or the predator could take advantage of a meerkat's distraction to get to the pups.

Linda emerges from the hole with a scorpion in her mouth. She eats it and looks around. Where did the millipede go?

Lavender rights herself and trains herself to stay focused but a trio of adorable baby ground squirells soon grabs her attention. She finds their antics to be cute and entertaining.

Lancaster is about to show Lavender something that could prove to be useful to her when she takes up sentry duty on group outings, when he notices that she's become distracted again. He sighs. This is going to take a while.

Linda spots the millipede trying to escape underground. She runs over and tugs on it, pulling it out. She rubs the slime off and eats the millipede. She continues to find food to satisfy her appetite.

Lancaster peeps to get Lavender's attention then motions his head, pointing his nose at a nearby small tree. He's trying to show her that a hieghtened sentry post can give her the advantage to see for miles over the horizon, which could give her more time to warn the group of an approaching predator if one is spotted off in the distance.

Lavender looks to Lancaster after hearing him peep. She nods, interested but can't help to make another quick glance at the playful baby ground squirells before turning her full attention to Lancaster.

At the foraging party, Keeko climbs onto a small bush, to keep an eye over his family.
Miley and Crash foraged.

ooc: Oh, whoops.

bic: Jackie forages happily.

Snowflake eats a millepede happily.

Lancaster peeps. He'll show Lavender how to carefully climb up onto the higher gaurd post. Even though meerkats aren't strong in the climbing department Lancaster is going to try his best to show her how to safely climb up the small tree.

Lavender watches with interest as Lancaster heads over to the small tree.

Linda focuses on foraging. After eating a few more bugs, she feels she's had enough and sits on her haunches near the entrance, deciding to rest. She watches as Lancaster tries to teach Lavender.

Lancaster digs his claws into the small tree's bark, getting a firm, safe hold so he can climb up the tree hopefully with ease. He starts to scale up the small tree carefully but has some ungracefull climbing moments where he almost loses his grip and nearly falls.

Lavender watches Lancaster climb up the small tree. She grits her teeth as his shaky climbing skills make her nervous.

Linda watches with interest. Lancaster can teach Lavender things like sentry duty, while she can teach her others things, say maybe babysitting. She needs a job to do to take her mind off of things.

Lancaster grips one of the small tree's branches with both front claws and clambers on to the tree branch. He slowly rises up on his hind legs trying to get his balance on the wobbily branch. He leans back on his tail which helps to perfect his balance.

Lavender trots over to the small tree, eager to give her first try at sentry duty at the top. The challenge of starting at the most difficult position sounds exciting, but for a rookie like her, it'd be safer if she chose to do gaurd duty on the ground.

Linda lays down, deciding to take a little kat nap. The effects of her pregnancy are eating away at her normal energenic self, and she feels quite lazy right now.

Lancaster manages to keep balanced on the thin narrow branch. Despite being up so high, he also manages to stay focused on looking out for danger rather than worrying about falling and recieving a potentially serious injury.

Lavender places her front paws on the small tree and looks up at Lancaster with amazement. She wonders how he could stay so calm when being up so precariously high on a not so safe looking branch. She hesitates. Maybe performing sentry duty up on the tree isn't so safe, especially for a rookie.

Linda dozes off, making use of her time away from Buckeye and the others.

Lancaster sees a couple of giraffs off in the distance. Other than that, the lanscape is clear of dangers but Lancaster remains on high alert. The jackal that passed by the burrow earlier could still be in the area and it's extremely important that he stays alert incase the jackal returns.

Lavender stands gaurd on the ground. She trains herself to stay focused on observing her surroundings for potential dangers.

Linda sleeps above ground. Her life rests on the ability of Lancaster and Lavender to warn her of danger.

Lavender moves closer to Linda to act as her body gaurd to protect her from danger and to alert her if they are caught off gaurd by a predator.

Lancaster scans the miles of landscape closely. He swivels his head every 3 seconds to cover every part of the horizon and to make sure he doesn't miss anything that could be seen as suspicious.

Linda churrs in her sleep, once again dreaming about Ninja. She dreams of him more and more as she misses him more and more.

Lavender looks down at Linda and smiles. She must be having a really good dream.

Lancaster looks up at the sky as a bird shaped shadow that casts on the ground grabs his attention. At first he's alarmed but it turns out just to be a vulture.
