Roleplay - 29th of October

Linda eats up some beetles and eats them fast, slowly regaining lost energy. She continues to move further out, unaware that she's approaching a possibly danger infested sea of tall grass.

Lavender glances around, scanning the horizon and sky for danger then resumes grooming herself. But she and Lancaster shouldn't get too lenient as danger could rear its ugly head any where at any time.

Lancaster rolls onto his stomach and shakes the sand off his fur as he sits up. He and Lavender are unaware of Linda unwittingly approaching a potentially dangerous sea of tall grass.

Linda notices she's wondered off, and returns to the others. There can be anything lurking in the grass, like snakes, and she doesn't want to share the same fate as Tank.

Lavender and Lancaster glance at Linda but are unaware that she had wondered off.

ooc: Would someone fill me in? the pages in this mob just fly by.

ooc- Nothing really. Linda got sick, but that was at the burrow, and she's fine now.

ooc: Most of the activity is at the babysitting burrow at the moment. The foraging party is just foraging so far. Lancaster and Lavender are just looking out for dangers.

Lavender glances at a patch of grass thinking she saw some kind of movement but it was just the wind blowing through the grass. Her attentiveness is steadily rising.

Lancaster smiles and nods at Lavender, impressed to see that she's staying aware of her surroundings. intense vigilance is something she'll need if she is to one day save the lives of the whole the group from an aerial or ground predator.

Linda digs closer to the burrow, still hungry. She won't stop until she feels full enough to last the day, but that will be hard. She hasn't felt completely full in days.

Lavender watches the patch of grass intensly, keeping a look out for anything that may look suspicious.

Lancaster looks up at the sky and gets caught up with watching the clouds move.

Linda digs up a millipede and eats it ravenously. She needs all the food she can get, and continues to dig.

Lavender and Lancaster watch Linda's back as she forages. If danger suddenly appears they're there to warn her immediately.

Linda eats a beetle and finally feels full enough to last. She sits near the others and gets going on a little bit of self grooming.

Lavender also starts to groom herself but it's to provent herself from being bored. She glances down into the burrow, thinking about going below ground to spend time with the pups.

Lancaster watches the landscape and skies intently for danger. If you let yourself get too distracted or bored during one of the meerkat socioty's most important duties, it cost someone's life.

Linda looks up at the sky and sees something. It's a martial eagle. She barks a warning and darts closer to the burrow, but doesn't go in yet.

Lavender jumps at Linda's alarm and looks up. She lets a high pitched surprised peep escape her throat and backs half way into the burrow. She watches the martial eagle warily. If it suddenly swoops towards the ground or burrow she'll bolt inside.

Lancaster spots the martial a few seconds after Linda did and sounds a closed mouth alarmed growl. He also waits to see what the martial eagle does before heading below ground for safty.

Linda continues to watch it. It doesn't seem to be paying any attention to them. She looks more closely, noticing something already in it's talons, another meerkat.

Lavender lets out a big gasp as she sees another meerkat clutched in the martial eagle's deadly talons. She whimpers hoping it isn't a fellow Willow member.

Lancaster watches with his mouth agape. Who the meerkat may be there's nothing they can do for them.

Linda heads into the burrow. It reminds her of Verniece. If it is a Willow in the bird's clutches, they're doomed. With two adults lost, they will have a hard time supporting eachother, let alone the pups due.

Lavender curls her lip and fights with herself to look away. If it is another Willow, she doesn't want to see he/she die in the talons of the martial eagle. She turns her head away whimpering and follows Linda into the burrow.

Lancaster lowers his head and closes his eyes tightly. This predation brings back the memory of what happened to Verniece and then to Tank a week ago. If another Willows member falls prey to the elements, the group could be on the path of a down fall and life will become much more difficult with a pup boom on the way. Lancaster backs half way into the burrow but doesn't follow Linda and Lavender below. He decides to stay put to keep an eye on the eagle.

Linda goes to the pups, and, after finding out they feel a little cold, lays down and curls around them. She gives them an affectionate nuzzle.

Ariel wakes from her nap and churrs at the warm feeling from Linda's body.

Lavender peeks into the pup chamber. She smiles adoringly as she sees them snuggling against Linda.

Lancaster backs further into the burrow but keeps his head sticking out of the entrance. The martial eagle has perched itself in a near by camel thorn tree and it looks like it plans to stick around for a while.

Linda smiles at the pups. She can't wait to see them join the others above ground when the day comes.

Ariel paws at Linda. She wants to play.

Lavender lays down outside the pup chamber and giggles as she watches Ariel play with Linda.

Lancaster heads further into the burrow. He peeps to Linda and Lavender letting them know it isn't safe to return above ground yet.

Linda gently grooms Ariel.

Ariel squeaks in delight and paws at Linda's nose.

Lancaster looks into the pup chamber and chuckles. He can't for the day when they start walking alongside the adults.

Lavender continues to watch the playful pups joyfully.
