Roleplay - 29th of October

Linda wakes up. Once again, it was only a dream. She can't wait for Ninja to return, if he ever does.

Lavender spots the yellow mongoose and her pups as she notices them in the corner of her eye. She watches them curiously as they trek through a patch of grass.

Lancaster makes himself comfortable and lays down on his stomach but still keeps his gaurd up.

Linda nuzzles the pups and gets up, deciding to return above ground. She starts to make her way up.

Lancaster rests his head on the sand and sighs in content. The warm sand felt good on his belly.

Lavender shivers slightly as a cool breeze nips at her fur.

Linda emerges and lays down in the sand as well. She shivers at the breeze too. She has a feeling this winter will be a hard one.

Lancaster sinks himself into the warm sand, trying to block out the cold breeze.

Lavender releases a soft growl from her throat. The wet season just can't come fast enough.

Jackie looks at the drongos breifly, before looking away.

Snowflake keeps watching them. Some part of him wanted to chase them, but he didn't...yet.

Linda fluffs up to keep warm. It's only going to get colder, and food is only going to become more scarce, yet she will need more of it as time passes.

Lavender leans against Linda for warmth. She too also fluffs up her fur to keep warm. She hopes that the first rains of the wet season arrive soon. She and others haven't had a decent meal in months.

Lancaster has burried himself in the sand and is nice and warm.

Linda looks at Lavender as she leans against her. If the others are having a hard time finding enough food, then she's having a really hard time. She'll pull through though, she knows it.

Lavender looks to Linda then at the ground and sighs. She hasn't felt full for months. Since the dry season started, she's felt a relentless hunger that won't go away even if she eats a few morsels. But she knows that if she's stays strong she'll be able to pull through the dry winter.

Lancaster's head is the only body part that's sticking out of the sand. He looks around and grins imagining he must look pretty funny.

Linda peeps to Lavender. She knows how she feels. It will be especially hard for herself and the other pregnant females, and she's starting to wonder if it was a selfish act to decide to have pups at this time of year. With food running low, she has a feeling Buckeye may decide to remove some hungry mouths to feed, and she knows who her first targets would be.

Lavender glances at Linda's stomach with concern. Having pups at this time of year could be a mistake and could put the litters at a high risk of being killed by rival females, predators, starvation or disease.

Lancaster rubs his chin in the sand forming a small hole to lay his head comfortably in.

Linda stops thinking about it. That's not something she needs to think about right now. She lays down, following Lancaster in using the sand for warmth.

Lavender looks up at the sky refocusing herself on keeping a look out for danger.

Lancaster lays his head in the small hole he made, feeling more comfortable now that he isn't affected by the chilly breeze.

Linda digs a little hole for herself as well, using it to escape the chilly winds. She buries some warm sand on top of her, making a sort of "blanket."

Lancaster smiles in content as he lays in his warm hole. He doesn't know if he wants to get up if/when he has to.

Lavender shivers from chilly air but chooses to stay on gaurd rather than make herself a warm hole to warm up in.

Snowflake gets up and chases the drongos. In surprise they retreat.

Jackie watches Snowflake with a raised eyebrow.

Linda stays in her hole, feeling quite content with it. She knows she'll have to get back to work soon though. With Buckeye's pups to feed and her own unborn pups, she will need to return to foraging soon.

Lavender watches a flock of ostriches off in the distance. She feels slightly wary towards them as they are an animal she doesn't remember seeing before and doesn't know if they are harmless or not.

Lancaster perks up his head as he also sees the ostriches. From experiance, he already knows that they are ok.

Linda watches them, still in her hole. She's seen them before. More than once, and she's never seen them harm a meerkat. She stares at them, still interested in the large birds.

Lancaster gets the urge to want to get up and rises from his sand hole. He shakes the sand from his fur then starts to groom himself.

Lavender watches the ostriches movements with caution. She gawks at them amazed at how large they are.

Linda chirps to Lavender. They're harmless. She gets back to watching them, amazed of their size.

Lavender relaxes learning that the Ostriches are harmless but she still finds herself drawn to their features and behavior and continues to observe them, this time with interest.

Lancaster finishes grooming himself and watches the ostriches with Linda and Lavender.

Linda starts to feel a little sick. She sits up, most of the sand on her sliding off as she does so.
