Roleplay- 16th of December (Comets)

Elena hears it again and looks into the vegetation. Curious as she is, she decides to follow it.

Jupiter, also growing irritated, began to sniff the air. A unfamiliar scent of another meerket enters her nostrils. She snorts, realizing it was a rover. She bares her fangs. She REFUSED to let another female fall pregnant. This group was growing too big as it was, and she was struggling at this point to maintain it. She began to furiously scent mark the area, letting Veen know that his presence is not welcomed.

Puzzle continued to dig, unaware of Veen.

Nashita, this time, hears Veen and looks around, curious.

Topaz also hears Veen this time. Rather than feeling afraid, Topaz feels bravery coursing through her veins and protectively stays by Jet, baring her tiny fangs and puffed up her fur a bit. While she tried to look intimidating to whoever was nearby, all she looked like at this point was a big, fluff ball. Hardly a threat, but hey, she was trying!

Hearing the meerkat like sound, Karma's ears twitch and she glances around, trying to pinpoint the source but is failing to locate it. She doesn't notice Elena slinking off to investigate. Seeing Jupiter furiously scent marking the area implies that there's rover in the vicinity. Karma snarls and stands tall on her haunches. She blurts out a fierce bark, letting Veen know he's been found out and is unwanted. The already outgrown mob can't afford another female to fall pregnant. It could prove to be catastrophic later down the road.

Started by the sudden reaction of the family around him, Jet stared wide eyed before skittering close to Topaz. Cuddling against her fur, he felt secure even if he didn’t know what or who caused the mystery noise.

Veen, winking at Elena, turned tail and fled. He didnt want to fight right now.

Hearing a rustle in the vegetation near by, Karma jerks her head in the general direction it came from and war-danced towards a particular bush. Seeing Veen make his escape, she breaks to a stop and chatters triumphantly. Yes, they've succeeded in foiling an amorous male's attempt at trying to woo a female. The last thing the oversized Comets need is another female falling pregnant.

Elena backs away when Jupiter starts acting up, and didn't even see Veen.

Jupiter faintly hears paws running off. Sounded like the rover got her message. Snorting a bit, she stands on her hind legs, scanning the area.

Puzzle finally comes out of the hole he had been digging, carrying his reward, a nice juicy lizard (Calling that juicy is funny to me for some reason. xD). Missing out on what happened, he began to devour his prize.

Nashita blinked. What just happened?

Topaz's fur soon goes down, looking around. Whoever was out there, she wouldn't allow them to harm Jet. Having someone smaller than her to defend was bring out her more brave side.

Karma returns to her calm mood now that Veen is gone and gets back to foraging but keeps her gaurd up incase the sly rover suddenly reappears.

Elena resumes foraging, only now close to the others.

Enkozi peeps thankfully to Sanders and takes a closer look at the strange pupae. He smells them before picking one up with his teeth. He begins chewing it. It tasted strange, but all the same, he liked the flavour.

Amani eats a small millipede.

Jia eats a beetle.

Karma unearths a skink and devours it quickly.

Jupiter continued to scan the area, wanting to ensure the rover was long gone.

Puzzle finally senses some tension in the air and looks around. Did he miss something?

Nashita shrugs off what had happened and went back to forging.

Topaz soon calms herself. Looked like whatever happened had passed. She looks at Jet, who had huddled against her, and began to lick the top of his head, as if to reassure the danger was gone.

Jet churr’d and gave a soft mew as Topaz began licking the top of his head. He smiled to himself knowing he was safe next to the caring young female. Having someone like her around eased the empty hole in his heart for not having a mother around.

Watching proudly as Enkozi tried to get his tiny teeth around the mystery ‘thing’, Sanders puffed out his chest and sat upright on his back legs.

Amani and Jia continue foraging.

Enkozi finishes the mysterious insects he found. He peeps thankfully to Sanders once again and decides to try looking for his own again. He begins digging, hoping to unearth some prey.

Karma is merrily foraging in a different spot, her mood back to being nonchalant. She feels secure knowing the reliable sentries are covering every part of the surrounding area with their sharp eyes.

((OOC: I'm sensing a little TopazxJet in the near future. x3))

Jupiter continued her watch. She was already feeling a bit full anyhow, now she wanted to do sentry duty. After that close call with Veen, she wasn't taking any chances.

Puzzle looked around, confused. Guess he did miss something... He decides to also help Jupiter with sentry duty and stands on his hind legs on the opposite side of the dominant female and began to scan the area.

Nashita was still forging, still a bit hungry, even after eating a centipede.

Topaz giggles as Jet made some adorable sounds. She was a little older than he was, but already, she felt the motherly instincts of an adult female kicking in at her younger age. She began to groom Jet, as a way to further bond with the younger pup. She was slowly coming to see Jet as a younger brother, something she never got to have before.

Elena continues to forage, avoiding eye contact with the others.

Karma digs up an entree of beetle larvae. She licks her lips and begins happily dining on her delicious main course.

Tsumae yawned, her lips drawing back to reveal all her sharp teeth neatly grown together. Snapping it shut, she looked around. She was full, and guessed she could nap. Lumbering over to some shade, she plopped down, closing her eyes.

Enkozi continues digging.

Amani and Jia both calmly forage.

After cleaning her Kalahari plate clean, Karma lets out a big yawn. She treads over to a bush and plops down under its shade, feeling like she could take a nap.

Elena has her fill on foraging and chooses to rest too, heading to another bush nexto to the one Karma's under.

Karma sees Elena occupying the bush next to her's in her peripheral vision and glances over, greeting her with a friendly smile. She rests her head in between her front paws, making herself comfortable.

Elena smiles as well, moreso happy that she hasn't been branded an enemy and a traitor by everyone.
