Roleplay- 4th of January

Linda notices Velmarie as well and has the urge to rush over and greet her, but decides to let John and Velmarie have some privacy first. She instead heads over to her own lover and sits by his side.

*Velmarie was so overjoyed to see John. A tear hit hear eye....all she wanted to do was sit and talk to him forever. She nuzzled him lovingly. Never again would she leave him- if she could help it. Yes, he too was her everything. She smiled as some other mob members took notice of them. She needed to greet and catch up with them too! But she decided that John needed to know where she had been all this time...*
Velmarie: "I should've told you before I left, I'm sorry John. I went to visit my family....but most of my siblings have left. It took me most of this time to travel back. And it wasn't the greatest experience to travel alone- it was very frightening."

Watching John and Velmarie smother each other with love is making Ninja feel passionate inside. As Linda took a seat beside him, he leans against her, caressing the side of his face against hers fondly.

John frowned as Velmarie explained her journey back wasn't pleasant. But then again... traveling alone was never easy. He nods slowly. I'm just happy to see you again, alive and unharmed. Every day that you weren't by my side was hard to bare. He nuzzles her under her chin, just happy to be with her again.

Root nodded at Caffeine. Yup, we're twins actually. Also, Petal can't speak. That's why I stepped in to explain about the scorpion. But if you got any questions, feel free to ask me.

Petal lets Root explain things and stares at her meal in thought. What would her voice sound like? If she could speak? She sighs silently and bit off one of the scorpion's pinchers, munching on it quietly.

Akita churred, sniffing Faye. She was defidently different. Placing her paws on her back, she sniffed her neck, becoming curious.

Caffeine peeps Oh so she can't speak? Ok. I can still watch what she does and learn that way, right?

Meanwhile Dipstick and Backstaff are getting hungry again... they start peeping loudly.

Ouija, who had been foraging for himself initially, now inverted his hunting intent at hearing the peeping of young ones- Dipstick and Backstaff. The male dug into the ground ferociously, hot on the trail of a scorpion. He soon reeled back from his hole, the flailing cousin of the spider snapping all over. Ouija quickly disarmed it, snapping off its tail, and brought the prey over to the two pups. Share, he barked gently.

*Velmarie leaned her head against John, feeling more at home than ever. The hardships of her journey and traumas of being alone were beginning to fade as he helped brighten her mood.*
Velmarie: "I didn't forget you while I was gone- it's what brought me back here. I'm also happy to be back- my heart lies here with you. And what's happened in the mob lately?"

OOC: Ozzkat, it's very sweet of Ouija to share his scorpion with them but... they're too young to eat solid foods. They're only 4 days old.

Ninji was still watching the majestic herd of gemsbok when a strange looking invertebrate entered her right peripheral vision. Motioning her head, she sees it's a cockroach, though she's completely clueless to that being the odd physiqued creature's indentity. She pads over to it, bobbing her head in curiosity. What the heck is this thing?

Linda grooms Ninja tenderly and watches the rest of the group.

Duke is with Aliiya, scanning the surroundings.

Ninji was in Ouija's field of vision in his one operating eye. Noticing her bobbing her head, Ouija comes over curiously, at first nervous. Bobbing of the head toward the ground was usually associated with the arrival of a serpent... but, she wasn't growling, so this was a good denote. Once he was close enough to her and saw the cockroach, he lowered his head to sniff it cautiously, but jerked back quickly. Hissing cockroaches were a rare- and rather unpleasant with their highly annoying mouth...- find, but with Ouija's age of experience, he'd seen one prior to this. Although, he could not call himself a fan of them. But, almost playfully, the pawed at the insect observantly, whacking it daintily with his claws to leap back at intervals.

(OOC: They're aren't with the rest of the mob, Meyerm. They're at the burrow. Sorry I didn't specify.)

BIC:

It suddenly dawns on Caffeine that her family has not begun to look for her... she goes over to Ninja and peeps... Hey, I will be going home eventually right?

Aliya is still forging. Looks like today she won't be experiencing any pain today. Than goodness... But she still worries.

Nothing of interest has really happened... Other than gaining a couple of new members. John explained to Velmarie and nuzzles the top of her head, still just happy to be with her again.

Sure you can. You don't need words to learn how to forge. Root said with a grin. It was interesting a pup took interest in his sister. But at the same time, he felt hopeful. Could Petal finally gain a friend? She was always so shy and unsure due to her muteness.

Petal finishes her meal and decides to forge some more, still a bit hungry. One more meal should do it. She looks around, wondering if Caffeine was watching. She wouldn't mind teaching her how to forge. Even if she lacked words, action tended to be better.

Ninja was cuddling with his mate when he heard Caffeine inquire about going back home. Making eye contact with her, he smiles cordially, This is your home now, little one. But I understand how you feel. You miss your natal family. Unfortunately, we don't know where they could be. The Kalahari is a vast landscape. Locating them would be impossible. But don't worry. I'm sure they're out there somewhere, thriving just fine. Who knows? Maybe someday you'll cross paths with them again. Anyway, the Jumaa are known to be a very easygoing and compassionate mob. Ultimately, they're phenomenally maternal when it comes to intereacting with pups, natal or foreign. I promise you they'll give you the best care the Heavens have ever witnessed. Ninja began to feel sympathy for the pup, knowing she must miss her family immensely.

The hissing cockroach's defensive sounds have Ninji rather intrigued than daunted. She tilts her head a little. It's sure making some interesting noises. She then began observantly pawing it herself, though her touch is the opposite of Ouija's. She practically stamps the poor thing into the sand! The cockroach certainly isn't amused. This is torture for the invertibrate!

Duke watches the sky, noting that it will be dark soon. They should start heading back.

Caffeine's eyes dilate... she won't be able to go home... still she might as well make the best of it. Holding back the tears, she nods at Ninja and then starts to watch as Petal forages...not knowing they'll be going home soon...to her new home... She goes over to Petal and sticks by her as she does the last foraging of the day.

Phoebe had been watching the events quietly next to her mother and father, and of course, stayed with her half brother Ponda. She yawned, feeling sleepy. She couldn't wait to go home and get some much needed sleep. Hopefully, she and her siblings will learn to forge without the aid of the adults. She leans against Linda in a tired fashion, further showing her sleepiness.

Comet glances over at Caffeine sadly. He feels bad for the pup and limps over to her...

A twinge of sympathy ripples through Ninja's body once more as he watched the emotionally distressed pup go over to Petal for comfort. The poor girl. He hopes some day she gets to see her family again.

Linda smiles as her daughter leans against her, but saddens when she sees Caffeine. She feels sorry for the little pup.

Caffeine watches Petal but finds herself feeling very sleepy... as she tries to keep from falling asleep, she glances over and sees Comet moving towards her... everything starts to get blurry before the little pup inevitably nods off.

Back at the burrow, Backstaff and Dipstick continue to wait for their mother's return so they can be fed.

Contrary to the opinion of the cockroach, Ouija is quite ruffled with the state depicted by those bemused. But, he too is at the understanding night is slowly prowling nearer. He abandons the creature, glancing around for Aliya and Duke, assuming they would be liable to head home soon.

Aliya takes notice of Duke looking up at the sky. She understands. It'll be getting dark soon. She gives out calls, before going off. Its time to go home.

John hears Aliya and looks at Velmarie. We can talk some more as we go. And he began to follow the dominant female.

Root also began to follow.

Petal blinks when she felt something against her leg and sees its Caffeine, who fell asleep. She smiled in adoration. Awww... She then notices Comet limping over and smiles in a friendly fashion. She has heard Aliya, but has decided to walk with Comet to give him some company. Plus, he seemed like a nice male.

Sympathetic for the young female, Comet picks Caffeine up and begins to carry her, following Aliya... Slowly of course, with his injury... He smiles at Petal, grateful for her company...
