Roleplay - 1 of September, 2009

Fayea ran over to help protect the pups. Nimbus watched the Willows every move. Maybe if the two groups just stayed ignorant of each other, no blood shed would occur.

Stratus watches the group, waiting for Morning Glory's command.

Having watched the Willow’s suddenly disappear from view, Morning Glory still stayed on high alert and continued to watch across the scrubland. If the Willow’s were still out there and wanted to attack she’d be ready for them. Chrr'ing to Stratus about the findings, she descended down carefully from her post and ran over to sit near him.

Not really feeling in the mood to have a run in with the neighbours, Leaf found some shade under the bush Morning Glory was watching from and flopped down onto her belly.

Stratus chhrred to Morning Glory. He then stood up and kept an eye on the surrondings.
Tisca walked over to Leaf and sat by her. She didn't really feel like a run in either.
Cloud Catcher couldn't sit still and jumped about, eager to meet another group.

Faeya ran over and bopped Cloud Catcher on the head. They need to stay quiet when other groups are in the area.

Cloud Catcher frowned and sat down.

Looking around Morning Glory watched the pups fidget, with time drawing on they’d either have to press forward and continue to forage and make the most of the bountiful food supply or pull back and head into their own territory.

Feeling her own pups move gently she knew what her personal choice would be, but wasn’t convinced it was best for the rest of the family. Moving her head to check for Nimbus and Tisca her thoughts were cut short by the sound of her sister Leaf making a series of chattering calls whilst being hunched over. Alerted to the issue, Morning Glory jumped up, rushed over, and began to sniff the air. <Not here, Not now..>

Panicking, she nudged Leaf to her feet and dashed off further into the Willow’s territory. If the pups wanted to be come early then there was no way she’d let them be born on the surface, they’d need to find a burrow or a large bolt hole as soon as possible.

Tisca jumped back and chirped in surprise. Leaf's pups weren't due to come yet! She ran after her friend, keeping her eyes open for somewhere to go.
Stratus ran up to Morning Glory. They had to go after Leaf! If The Willows came, then she'd be defenseless without them.

Clover shivers a little, not too keen about progressing. She wanted to stay where she was.

Dashing forward following old tracks of other meerkats, Morning Glory stopped dead in front of a large bush and began to mob it. No sign of any Willows but an enemy latrine that had to be re-scented.
Asserting her dominance she set to work, rubbing, digging and scratching any previously scented dirt, twig or stone in the vicinity.

Leaf sat down, curled up tight and gave another false series of cries. Her plan was working.. Morning Glory had taken the bait.

Frightened, she went over to Faeya. Clover didn't understand what was going on.

Tisca ran to Leaf's side, chirping worriedly. Was she okay?
Stratus followed Morning Glory and began to scent mark the area aswell.
Cloud Catcher bounded around, having picked up on the tension, but not realising that it was serious.

Clover whimpered to her brother worryingly.

With the bush now clearly marked as belonging to the Tiny Kats, a still flustered Morning Glory hurried around Stratus and the pups and chirped to Tisca to give Leaf another nudge to get her up on her feet again. They were back on the move..

Standing on her hind legs and giving a last scan of the sky, Morning Glory dashed across a short patch of baking sand to continue on the search for a burrow. The thought hadn’t crossed her mind that the next one that they might come across might have the Willows in it.

The situation was looking desperate. Faeya stayed close to Morning Glory to protect her while Numbus kept searching the area for the Willows.

Clover followed Faeya, looking around nervously.

Tisca did as she was instructed, and nudged Leaf gently, chirping to her encouragingly.
Stratus followed Morning Glory, looking over his shoulder to make sure Leaf was alright.
Cloud Catcher dashed after his sister, realising that this was serious.

Clover looked over at her brother. She was confused, but also very scared.

Cloud Catcher chirped to Clover. He was confused too, but he knew that everything would be alright!

Nimbus was the first to spot a burrow. It might be in Willows territory, but it was their only choice. He called fr them to follow.

Clover looks at her brother, unsure, and follows.

Cloud Catcher glanced at Clover, and followed the adults.
Stratus inspected the burrow. Being in Willows territory, he was nervous.

Faeya began to clear the entrance and make the burrow suitable for habitaion. Although it was late, Nimbus was still anxious. What if the Willows decided to come this way?

Pleased with Stratus’s find, Morning Glory tenderly groomed her mate by the edge of the burrow in a reward for his valiant effort. He was becoming her strong, dependable hero and she knew he was going to make a wonderful father to her pups.

Leaf slowly joined the other members and cautiously sniffed around. The smell of the Willows was strong in the air but she desperately wanted to get below ground to keep up the charade. Making a run for it past Tisca and the pups, she dashed down one of the entrances into the cool darkness of the burrow.

Clover sat down in the cool burrow, still extremely wary.
