Roleplay - 6th of September, 2009

Ages of those under a year old:
Clover, Cloud Catcher ......... 7 months and 3 days.
Chester Quavers, Badru, Sanders, Unnamed........ Newborns.

Due Dates:
Morning Glory and Stratus's litter...... Due 19th of September

Tisca is still asleep, curled up by Leaf.
Cloud Catcher is awake, but waits for the others.

Ooc: Sure Dipsy, what a cute name. Do you have ID numbers for them yet under the adoption topic?.

Ooc: My pup is male named Sanders.

Still in the Willow’s territory, Leaf had given birth to four healthy pups overnight. After four days of giving dominant sister Morning Glory the run around, by ending foraging trips far earlier or making them stay longer at the burrow in the mornings. She was finally happy that her pups were born in a area that was plentiful in food. This would ensure they had the milk supply for the best start in life.
Rolling onto her side, she huddled three of the tiny bundles close to her body and smiled as they squeaked whilst they tried to suckle.

Hearing the sound of newborn pups, Morning Glory inched closer in the darkness to investigate the new arrivals. As she approached, the smell of the blood filled her nostrils and triggered her mind to race with the once thought about idea of ending their little lives to reduce the competition.
Seeing one of the pups try and shuffle away from it’s mother, Morning Glory stepped forward and picked up tiny Sanders in her mouth.

Hearing the disgruntled squeak from her son, Leaf opened her eyes and stared with a look of worry back at Morning Glory.

It’s now or never..One less pup is one less mouth to feed.. With a wriggle and another cry from Sanders, Morning Glory placed him with the other pups at Leaf’s side and left the sleeping chamber. She couldn’t do it, he was family… they all were.

Clover smiles at the small pups.

Morning Glory reached the surface and climbed out onto the warming sand. The sky above was filled with a few wispy clouds and the occasional sound of a bird welcoming the dawn of a new sunrise across the desert.

Clover went over to her brother, in a good mood today. One of her gentle, loving moods.

ooc: Thanks. She was named after a meerkat doll I have, named 'Chester' because she came from Chester zoo. The quavers part is a wierd and long story...
I do have ID codes for them, I was just really busy yesterday and didn't get time to do it.

bic: Cloud Catcher awoke and smiled at Clover. He stood up and bounded out of the burrow.
Stratus sat next to Morning Glory, chrring comfortingly.
One of Leaf's young pups, Chester Quavers, was curled up next to her mother.

Clover went back over to watch the pups.

Morning Glory welcomed Stratus’s company and shuffled up close to him. It would only be a matter of time before their luck ran out and the small family would come face to face with the Willows. Were they ready for them?

Chattering contently to himself, Sanders shuffled closer to his curled up sister Chester Quavers and tried to use her as a support to get closer to a second helping of milk.

Badru was strangely still, compared to his siblings. He lifted himself a bit off the ground and stared ahead even though he was nearly blind.

Faeya sniffed the pups and instantly became attratced. She snuggled with them. She was allo-lactating, so she could provide Leaf's pups with milk.

With new pups, Nimbus was more nervous than ever. In Willows terriotry, theire situation was dire. He went above ground to inspect the surroundings.

Tisca yawned, and stretched. Chirping a cheery good mourning, she emerged and sat in the sun, to wake herself up.
Cloud Catcher dashed back into the burrow, and stopped when he found the pups. Do they want to play?
Stratus was also nervous. He wanted to get back to their own territory, but he was unwilling to move such young pups.

Morning Glory welcomed the others with a semi cheerful good morning as the joined them on the surface. Picking up on Nimbus’s nervousness, Morning Glory got up an began grooming him to provide some reassurance. They all were feeling the pressure, the only one who wasn’t was still underground suckling her newborns. Oh how her attitude would quickly change if the Willows came a’ knocking.

Feeling it would soon be time to leave to go out foraging, a very slimmer Leaf got to her feet and gave Badru a quick lick before disappearing out of the sleeping chamber.

Noticing his mother’s warmth leave, Sanders began to cry out in tiny squeaks hoping someone would provide him with some further attention.

Badru would narrow his eyes if he could. He knew he was not alone with his siblings, which made him frustrated. And the lack of warmth angered him for a second.

Sanders continued to mumble as he shuffled around the chamber floor, being blind was frustrating enough without the added aggravation of his tiny unstable legs buckling underneath his body at random intervals.

Badru tried to pull himself over to Sanders.

Chester Quavers squeaked, and pressed close to her siblings.
Tisca chirped to Morning Glory; she will stay behind to pupsit.

Badru gave Sanders a tiny nip, as strong as he could muster. As aggressive as a pup his age could get.

Sanders gave a yip and quickly turned his attention around to Badru. Oww what was that for...now it’s pay back time. Shuffling closer with the intent to play fight, Sander’s found a small pup leg and returned the semi agressive nip.

Chester Quavers shuffled uneasily. Tisca came over and gently pushed the two pups apart.

Badru growls and struggles a little.

Nimbus joined Stratus in centry duty. With such small pups, Faeya decided to stay as well to abbysit the pups while the group went foraging.

Clover felt like staying home today, to keep the pups company. <3

With many members staying with the pups today, Nimbus felt more secure. He was ready to forage.

With his mouth open and emitting a playful hiss, Sanders rolled onto his side as he was pushed apart from his brother. This play fight was far from over..

Morning Glory watched as some of the subordinate females disappeared back underground. It was generous that so many wanted to stay behind with the pups but it could mean trouble if the foraging group encounter the Willows. Their chances of winning a battle against the stronger family would be dramatically reduced and they could even be forced into a retreat in the opposite direction away from the babysitting burrow. Struggling to shake off the concern, Morning Glory looked to Stratus and then to Nimbus..

A far slimmer Leaf emerged from the entrance of the burrow and shook the loose earth from her coat, eager with anticipation to get underway with finding a hearty breakfast.
