Roleplay - 19th September

Leaf raised her eyebrows and then looked down at Clover wondering how she ended up in a group like this.

Stalking closer Josephine could just about make out the shapes of her meerkats up ahead of her. One heavily pregnant female stood out amongst the rest..Maybe she was Buckeye?
Excited, she unknowingly began chirping to herself.

Lithium looked up, hearing the noise and hissed. Great. More of them?!

Without thinking, Josephine bounded through the grass out into the scrub and wasn’t prepared for what was about to happen next.

Seeing the wild meerkat bound out of the long grass unexpectedly, Leaf instantly thought about protecting Clover and charged at Josephine.

Started, Josephine let out a frightened yelp and dashed back into the grass as fast as she could with Leaf in hot pursuit.

Lancaster sits on his haunches and scans the horizon and sky for danger but keeping an eye out for danger and on the playful pups is proving to be a handful. Tank continues to forage around the burrow he digs up a skink and chomps it down hungrily.

Suddenly a mystery male meerkat begins to slink through the grass towards the Willow's burrow. It's Ninja the stealthy rover who was recently seen at the Devils where he mated with Iblis. He's back and he's got females on his mind. Unfotunately he's heading towards a burrow where only adult males are present but decides to slink closer anyway to get a better look. Who knows there may be females there but they may be inside the burrow. He sneaks closer then stands on his hind legs and spots Tank and Lancaster. They're distracted and fail to notice him as they are busy. Ninja sits and waits. He'll wait until Lancaster moves away from the burrow to investigate to see if any females may be inside.

Glade notices the rover, but too small to alert her babysitters, she retreats again to the safety of the burrow.

Lancaster watches Glade go back below ground thinking she may just be tired and unaware that it was the sight of Ninja that spooked her below ground. He turns his back to the tall grass in which Ninja is hiding in. Also unaware of Ninja making an appearance at the burrow Tank still has his mind on food and continues to forage moving a bit further from the burrow.

Ninja smirks. Now was the chance to infiltrate the burrow to see if there are any females below. He leaves the cover of the grass and slinks toward the burrow, carefully and quietly so as to not alert the 2 males.

Jackie keeps digging for food.

Snowflake watches Jackie, unsure of what else he could do.

Josephine whimpered as Leaf dragged her to the ground and began biting and scratching at her side and thigh. Acting submissively, she continued to cry out pleaded to be accepted.

Giving a final hard bite to the base of Josephine’s tail, Leaf let up from the fighting and snorted victoriously as the younger female darted away with her sore tail between her legs. Seeing that the intruder was no longer a threat she headed back to the others knowing that Clover was safe.

Feeling that she was a safe distance away, Josephine stopped running and slinked sadly through the grass feeling rejected. Giving up and assuming that the small group must have been Buckeye and the Willows, Josephine headed on the long walk back to the bolt hole.

Buckeye, on the other hand, was no where near Josephine and the splinter grup. she had led her foraging party to the border, where they were foraging and basking in the shade. She climbed up a tree, looking for her missing members, to no avail. She kept up her calls, keeping an eye on each Willow head.

A male approaches. It's Sidorak. He's intent to take over, but appears submissive... (our plan was to have him mate with Cheyanne after she gives birth. He'll then, hopefully, become her new mate, if Stormy wants. XD)

Lavender approached the others, afraid for her sister's well being.

Visorak was enjoying his freedom from Sidorak before Vahki took charge of him.

Just as things looked to be going acording to plan, Lancaster turns and spots Ninja who is within 3 feet of the burrow. He growls as he's taken off gaurd by the bold rover but with precious pups below ground he sees him as a threat who must be expelled immediately. Ninja realizes he's been spotted and chrrs in frustration(Oh scorpions I've been caught!) but before he could make his "Houdini" escape Lancaster lunges at him managing to nail a painful bite on his hinde leg as he turns to bolt for it. Ninja runs for the high grass to make his escape with Lancaster hot on his tail. Ninja disappears into the grass and Lancaster snorts feeling victorious but running on his injured leg had made it feel more sore than before. He limps back to the burrow, sore but triumphant. Unaware of Lancaster's victorious chase off of Ninja, Tank is taking a break from foraging under a tree that is quite a distance from the burrow. He lays flat on his belly watching a small herd of Gemsbok graze in the distance. His thoughts on leaving for a roving trip soon.

Glade reemerges for a third time. Seeing no threat, she runs out, exploring the new sights and sounds.

Buckeye continues to look, unaware that her missing Willows are forming a large splinter group several miles away.

A young female named Maylene was slowly approaching and watching the group and she desperately hoped a male wouldn't pass by to her. If one did she would submit and just fall for the rover's tricks.

Lancaster greets Glade as she reemerges and keeps an eye on her as she explores around the burrow. He looks off into the distance wondering where his brother Tank had gotten too. Meanwhile, half a mile away from the burrow, Tank is enjoying a katnap underniethe of the tree. After his nap he plans on going roving to one of the groups nieghboring the Willows

Little did Tank know Maylene was close by to him and little did she know she was coming closer to him. Maylene was making some small strides forwarda and to the side but soon stopped at some bushes.

Tank awakens from his katnap and decides to hang under the tree for a little bit longer but is unaware that a female meerkat is making her way towards him.

Maylene then moves past the bushes and plops her head in the air and if you were looking from a tree, it was obvious she was there. She didn't notice the male in the tree and just tried to focus on the group but then she brought her head back down but her tail went high up.

Josephine continued to walk back to her lonely bolt hole unaware that an uninvited guest was just making itself comfortable inside. The day had started off so well and yet she felt like she was back at square one..trying to smile she thought about the kind males she had met earlier on in the day.

Leaf returned to the splinter group and noticed a new make approaching. She couldn’t be bothered to chase him away..that was Lithium’s job.

Dusk yawned and lay on the sand hoping for a quick kat nap.

Maylene was preoccupied by trying to get into the group to notice Tank or anybody else. Then she crouched down low and began to hide herself in the bush with her tail still hanging high.

Tank stands on his hinds legs and makes a 360 trying to decide which way he wants to go for a roving trip but he is unsure whether each way he looks has a group territory. Maybe to the west there's a group...or maybe to south he may run in to a meerkat group. Having never been to this part of the Kalahari it's going to be a trip into uncharted territory. Or maybe he may just get lucky right here. He spots Maylene in the distance and is immediately interested in her but is unsure of how to approach her currectly. He's only been roving a few times and the most recent roving trip he was on with his brother ended badly. He decides to stay put and waits to see if she notices him.

For a small brief moment Maylene looked up at Tank and she saw he was by himself and made a little call for him to come over, only if he wanted to. Then she rested her and tail on the ground.

Unable to contain himself any longer especially since she called him over, Tank bounds over to the female and greets her with a series of chirps then begins to groom her tenderly.

With the rover charm beginning to work on Maylene she began to groom back. Maylene then put her paws on Tank's side and then groomed his head.

Keeko spots movement in the bushes. Unsure what it is, he alerts Buckeye.

maylene hears an alert call and stops grooming Tank letting him know maybe some other time. She then moved out of the bushes and tried to make herself seem submissive and she laid down on the ground in submission.
