Roleplay - 19th September

Overwhelmed by Lancaster’s affectionate nurturing, Josephine opened her eyes and chatted in a series of short chirps back to him still with a smile on her face. She was meant to be the one helping him get better..

Sidorak glanced at the stranger. Who's side would he take?

Ignoring the pain in his leg, Lancaster peeps to Josephine reassuring her that he'll be fine and he's more worried about her condition than his own but smiles back to her and chirps(We can take care of each other. We'll both pull this together we just have to be strong). Above ground, Tank is suddenly alarmed by a distant jackal on the prowl and gives warning calls

Hearing Tank’s alarm call about the jackal from underground, Josephine shudders and shuffles closer to Lancaster with a nervous chirp. If it wasn’t for the Willows helping her back to the burrow she could have been its lunch.

Lancaster leans against Josephine and glares at the entrance/exit of the burrow. If that jackal manages to get pass Tank and raid the burrow, he'll risk his life to keep Josephine and the pups safe. Tank keeps his eyes glued on the jackal and stands as tall as he can on his hind legs to make his large figure look even more formitable. He glares and lets out a series of barks to let the jackal know he's been spotted and isnt appreciated near the burrow. The jackal eyes the burrow with interest and decides to make an approach to investigate.

Grace tilts her head.

Gretel glances at the source of the warning.

Holding the forearm with the injured shoulder close to her body, Josephine gently groomed the back of Lancaster’s neck trying to calm her nerves.

Seeing the jackal approaching, Tank growls loudly letting the jackal know that it's his last warning to stay away from the burrow or Tank wont hesistate to attack if he has to. The jackal has caught the scent of pups and an injured meerkat in the burrow and is intent on making them his dinner. Lancaster grooms Josephine back to keep her calm. He worries if she panics, her increased heart rate could acelerate the venom already pumping through her body.

Feeling her muscle in her shoulder begin to twitch and go slightly numb, Josephine stopped grooming and rested her head against Lancaster’s back and closed her eyes.

Lancaster rests his head on Josephine's then lets out a small chirp fearing she may never wake up. He nudges her slightly hoping she responds then watched the burrow entrance nervously. Above ground, the jackal has failed to head Tank's warning and he preps himself for battle. Tank erects his tail, bears his teeth, snarls and wardances toward the jackal. The jackal at first holds his ground. Is the jackal really going to let something twice as small as him take him out? Tank makes contact with the jackal and clamps down on to the jackal's left front leg biting down hard until he tastes the jackal's blood in his mouth.

Crash followed Tank, growling angrily. Miley stood protectively by the entrance.
Keeko followed Buckeye.

At Lancaster’s nudge Josephine gently squeaked but didn’t open her eyes. The pain in her shoulder was so sore, her thin body unusually weak but her heart was determined to stay strong.

The rover had decided to help the Willows as he just noticed they could use the help more than the other mob.

Maylene was standing behind Buckeye and Keeko getting ready to fight.

Lancaster sighs relieved to hear a sound from Josephine. He rests his head on her side whimpering worriedly for both her and his brother. The jackal clamps his jaws around Tank's body and pulls him off his leg then thrashes Tank around like a rag doll and throws him to the ground. But Tank isnt intimidated and lundges at the jackal again biting his into his throat not to kill but to dibilitate the jackal.

Maylene felt a strange surge go through her and she quickly ran back to the burrow. Then she watched the jackal and Tank and then rammed onto it's back and bit down hard onto its neck.

Cheyenne goes about scent marking everyone, unaware that Chris is dead.

Tank smiles as he sees Maylene come to help. He barks a thank you to her then clamps down harder on the jackal's neck causing him to gag then begins pulling the jackal to the ground to finish it off. Lancaster can hear the fight from below ground but is too nervous to go above ground to check to see if Tank is winning. He is oblivious to Maylene's help.

Maylene then jumps back off of the jackal and just ignores Tank and leaves and runs back over to the group and stands once again behind Buckeye & Keeko.

Tuck growled softly.

Not wanting to kill the jackal, Tank releases him from his vice like grip. The jackal is dazed and in shock and decides not to keep putting up a fight. He limps off with his tail between his legs. Victorious, Tank leads a wardance after the jackal, confident that he took down a predator twice his size but he didnt do it alone. Thanks to Maylene the pups and Josephine have been saved. Tank struts back to the burrow triumphantly but sore. He looks for Maylene so he can thank her but realizes she's gone. He shrugs and decides to wait until she returns from foraging to thank her.

Maylene then having gotten a full belly returns from foraging but goes right past Tank and it's clear she has no interest in him. She then stands by a tree and begins to groom herself.

Tank sees maylene return from foraging and peeps a thank you to her for helping him take down the jackal but he notices that she's ignoring him. He frowns thinking she must be mad at him for getting her pregnant. He decides to not think about the consequences and focuses on keeping a look out for danger. Lancaster finally plucks up the courage to go above ground to check to see if the danger has passed. He slowly makes his way towards the burrow entrance and pokes his head out from the burrow. He sees the danger has passed and that Tank is alright. He sighs in relief but decides to stay below to take care of Josephine.

Maylene then goes over to the burrow and over to Tank. Then she nudges (hey Tank, follow me the group is in trouble) and she ran off towards where the group was foraging.

Tank decides to follow Maylene. He looks back at the burrow worried about what could happen if he leaves the vulnerable pups and the 2 injured meerkats to fend for themselves but he also wants to help the Willows they could use a large male like him right now. He makes his choice and follows Maylene to the group.

Once they arrive back to where the group is Maylene shows Tank why the group is on alert. It's because of the splinter group.
