Roleplay - 19th September

Tank returns to the burrow and realizes the group has returned for a midday break. He pads over to the burrow trying to keep his tryst with Maylene a secret fearing that he may get her in to trouble with Buckeye and plops down next to Lancaster who eyes him suspiciously and peeps(Where have you been? I was getting worried. I couldve used your help with babysitting you should know that I can't handle it alone in my condition!) Tank eyes Maylene dreamily smiling and chrrs softly(Oh I was just exploring our new territory. I got curious so I just decided to wonder off). Lancaster just glares at him then turns to grooming himself.

Maylene had seen a female earlier and wondered if she was back yet. She then went looking around for her and caught her scent at some bolt hole and chirped below for her.

From her lofty perch, Josephine wobbled and chatted to herself nervously as she watched an unfamiliar meerkat approach her location.

Maylene then caught the scent of a cobra and made a warning bark. As she was barking, Maylene was also mobbing the bolt hole entrance.

Buckeye, unaware of Tank and Maylene's liason, layed in the sand as her extended family relaxed around her. She then spotted Maylene and, curious about her intentions, followed her into the burrow. There, she spotted Josephine. She was about to raise the alarm call, but she realized she was scared. She passed Maylene and sniffed the new comer.

Noticing Maylene taking off Tank becomes curious and decides to follow her unaware that she's heading off to search for Josephine. He worries where ever she's going she's taking a risk by going alone leaving herself open to predators. Tank figures with a large male like him with her no one will attempt to attack her. Lancaster watches him take off after her and barks(Hey now where are you going!? And with a female?) He sighs and lays his head on his paws figuring they may be taking off to find some where to mate. But unknown to Lancaster they had already mated.

Maylene then stood on her paws and began to make her alarms calls even louder as she was trying to get Buckeye & Keeko's attention that there was a cobra in the midst.

Seeing teh cobra, Buckeye chirped to Maylene and then called for the group to get away from the bolt hole. She then ran to her other Willows, staring back at the hole.

Maylene then ran back over to the group and on her hind legs next to Buckeye. She was alert and ready and if she was going to be pregnant would do whatever it took to keep herself in the group and her litter alive.

Tank hears Maylenes alarm calls and bounds in the direction where he heard them. He spots the cobra near the bolthole, hisses and starts to mob it snapping at it viciously. Hearing Buckeye's warning calls to stay back, Tank thinks better of it and follows Maylene and Buckeye back to the burrow but keeps a stern eye toward the bolthole. Lancaster perks up hearing the alarm but chooses not to investigate. He cant risk another injury when he's already dealing with one.

At the sound of the warning call, Josephine fell from the bush and landed awkwardly. Stumbling over out from under the bush she watched the group mob the snake. Who were these kats?

Daisy shivers and bolts.

Visorak grumbled, but Vahki forced him.

Keeping her distance, Josephine followed Tank, Maylene and Buckeye back to where ever they came from. Anywhere had to be better than that bolthole..tilting her head as she walked she thought she recognised the larger male.

Maylenebegan to back up a little ,wondering when or if Buckeye would lead the group away and hopefully find a burrow or would they kill the snake.

Bothered by the cobra's presence near the burrow filled with precious pups below, Tank returns to the bolthole and mobs the snake biting at it and making spit calls to try to scare it off. Lancaster stays put watching nervously as the group mob the snake.

Maylene cheered on the inside that Tank was being so brave but on the outside she was a little scared and happy that Buckeye wouldn't know about their mating for a few days.

Josephine stopped and stood on her hind legs and called out to Tank..<What was he thinking?>. Anxious she bolted back to the bolt hole to see the snake swaying and hissing angrily at the large male. Thinking about the close bond the brothers had, Josephine darted in front of Tank just in time as the cobra lunged to bite.
Satisfied, the cobra slinked away into the grass leaving Josephine shaking as the poison began to enter her blood stream.

Maylene then made a soft chirp for Tank to return, hoping he would.

Seeing Josephine jump out to protect him from the cobra's bite, Tank stands there stunned after seeing her get bitten. He sees this as a wake up call and backs away from the snake then tends to Josephine. He grooms her bite wound chattering anxiously. Lancaster looks on in to the direction where Tank and the 2 females were. He sends out worried contact calls for them to return.

While standing next to Buckeye still she made her chirps louder. She was getting anxious that Tank wasn't returning and hoped he would soon.

Dropping onto the sand, Josephine looked back at Tank with sorrowful eyes as he groomed her wound. In a way she was happy that Tank was unhurt, now he could stay strong to look after his brother and unknown to her his new developing family.

Maylene ignored the fact of Josephine getting bitten and kept making her chirps and distress calls hoping that Tank would soon her them.

ooc: Does she survive the bite?

bic: Tank looks down at Josephine with panic in his eyes. His instincts are telling him to get her to the safty of the group. He nudges her to try to get her to stand up.

ooc: most likely but you never know, depends on how things go.

Hearing the family calling, Josephine nudged him back whilst chirping weakly to leave her behind..She could manage to stand on three legs but walking would be slow.

ooc: Ok

Tank whimpers not wanting to leave her but eventually gives in to the Willows' contact calls and pads somberly and slowly back to the group making ocassional glances behind him.
