Roleplay - 23rd of July 2009

Scar awoke first, and peered out of the burrow. There wasn't anything dangerous, so he walked out and sunned himself, keeping an eye out for danger in the meantime.
Tisca awoke next, yawning loudly. She lay down in the sun, trying to warm her body up.

Faeya was the next up. She sunned herself against the sun... it was a peaceful and warm night.

Tisca chirped happily to Faeya.
Stratus emerged, yawning loudly.

Faeya smiled sweetly at Tisca and groomed her in greeting.

Morning Glory emerged from the burrow and joined the other family members on the surface. Chirping happily at the bright morning, she sat up tall on her back legs and let the sun’s rays warm her body.

Leaf wasn’t as pleased to leave the comfort of the burrow as her dominant sister but she took it slowly and cleaned the entrance on her way out.

Faeya spotted Leaf and decided to help her clean the burrow, wanting to give the female some company.

Tisca joined Faeya and Leaf.

After affectionately grooming Faeya and Tisca for their company, Leaf went back down into the burrow to look for signs of the two pups. Morning Glory meanwhile nibbled at an itch on her left front paw and waddled a few steps over to where Stratus was sitting.

Stratus chrred to Morning Glory, and starts to groom her.
Cloud Catcher awoke when Leaf came looking for her. He grumbled slightly, and bounded out of the burrow.

Nimbus was next up, and scanned the sky. In the distance, he saw storm clouds.

Stratus looked in the direction his brother was looking. The storm clouds made him uneasy. He chirped to Morning Glory; they should get foraging before it rains.
Tisca gathered up the pups, preparing to leave.
Scar walked over to Leaf and smiled.

ooc: If pancake doesn't comeback soon, I will start playing her characters.

Nmibus was alert and ready to leave. He was very hungry, and wanted to get a meal in before it rained.

Faeya also frowned at the rainclouds, but stood, ready to go foraging.

Stratus started to forage, eager to get going before the rains fell.
Tisca also foraged, with Cloud Catcher sitting by her, begging loudly.
Scar climbed atop of a bush, keepin an eye on the stormclouds and and eye out for predators.

Faeya watches the skies uneasily.

Nimbus soon spotted an eagle. He let out the alarm and ran to the nearest bolt hole. His family, however, dispersed.

ooc: Dispersed..?

Hearing Nimbus’s alarm call, Morning Glory darted in the direction of the burrow and took shelter under a drie doring bush. Panicking, she dropped to the ground with her front laying on the cooler sand and called out to any of her family that may have followed her whilst keeping an eye on the grey sky of any signs of the eagle.

Leaf however, who had been foraging as far away from her dominant sister as possible saw Nimbus raise the alarm and charged after him as he made a dash for safety. About half a metre away from the foraging site Leaf turned around and hurried back making frantic, worried calls to Clover and Cloud Catcher.

Tisca and Stratus ran after Morning Glory.
Cloud Catcher ran around, calling for one of the adults. Clover was by him, frozen in fear.

With sand flying in her direction, Morning Glory sat up and suddenly felt the warmth of Stratus and Tisca huddled up near her under the bush. Relieved that they were safe, she happily chirred to them and began grooming their forepaws and shoulders to reaffirm their family bond.

Alone in the open, Leaf tried to stay focused and not run in circles. With her maternal instinct growing stronger she demanded herself to press forward and locate the pups even though she was putting more then one life at risk. Jumping through the clumps of grass, she heard Cloud Catcher’s desperate mewing cry and bolted towards him.

Cloud Catcher saws Leaf and ran towards her, terrified. Clover stayed where she was, too afraid to move.
Tisca chirped worriedly to Morning GLory. The other's were missing! Stratus stood up, desperately trying to find the missing meerkats.

With Cloud Catcher near by, Leaf pulled the pup close to her body and gently groomed the top of his head. With her paws crossed in front of him, she beckoned Clover over to where they were rested but was afraid that she’d have venture further out into the open to reach her.

ooc: Clover saw Leaf, and managed to run over.
Cloud Catcher clung to Leaf.

With the two pups together, Leaf huddled up over them to try and shield them from the aerial predator

Faeya, hearing thr alarm ran over to Leaf and the pups, yipping urgently.

Scar ran into the bolthole.
