Roleplay- 4th of January

Cloud stands on his hind legs, looking for the others. However, as he was a pup he was too small to see very far.

Kinkajou stood on her hind legs and peeped desperately.. uhm...was it that way? no...she sent out louder calls, hoping the group would hear her.

Phoebe looks up when she hears calls. What was that? Her curiosity kicked in and she walks toward the calls. She would have to learn that not all meerkats who give out calls weren't friends, some could be enemies, and could result her in loosing her life she wasn't careful.

Comet looks down at Cloud, then at the adults around him... He was completely unsure...

Ponda follows Pheobe, also curious...

Giving in to her curiousity, Ninji begins paddling towards the calls, unaware that approaching a stranger could come with serious risks. The meerkats emitting the calls could be rivals, and if given the chance, they could kill her.

Ninja watches in dismay as his children begin to gravitate towards the calls. Some day, they're going to learn that strangers can be dangerous and won't think twice about taking their lives. Not about to let his children put their lives at risk, he attempts to herd them back toward the foraging party. Having already lost 2 children, he isn't taking any chances.

Comet tries heading in a direction, hopefully he's going the right way...

John helps Comet walk, offering himself as someone for Comet to lean on. Having done this with Ninja back with the assault on the Midnights, he didn't mind at all.

Petal quickly follows, not wanting to be left alone.

With displeasure, Ninji complies to her father’s urge to return to the safety of the group and begins walking toward the congregation of adults. She looks toward the direction she remembers hearing the calls coming from, a bit worried. She has the intense urge to come to the distressed strangers’ aid but since her over protective father fears for her safety, she knows there’s nothing she can do about it. It’s best to just let the experienced grown ups handle it. Since the risk of her getting herself killed by the potential rivals is present, and remembering that her family is still grieving the loss of the siblings she got to know, she decides to not take any chances.

Now that Ninji is back in the protective midst of the adults, Ninja works on herding the rest of his pups back toward the safety of the group.

Phoebe whined in protest. B-But Daddy... W-What if that's a cry for help? Or if someone out there is hurt? She wanted to know. Her compassion could land her in hot water some day, but... she'll hopefully learn that not every cry was from a friend, it could be a foe.

Cloud quickly scanns the area, before following Comet.

Kinkajou sniffed the air and strode in front of Comet.. the group had to be near..

Ninja understands Phoebe desperately wants to help whoever may be in grave danger, as naturally, he, too, is worried and wants to know if these distress calls are truely calls for help. But given the series of misfortunes his family has endured over the weeks, he's afraid if they take the risk of investigating the situation, it could turn out to be a trap and result in another one of his pups getting killed. He whines, feeling conflicted. Should they go investigate to see if these strangers are truely in grave danger or should they play it safe and not risk it? He doesn't know what to do. He fears the outcome of investigating could be tragic.

Ponda whimpers. He wants to help too, but he listens to his father and lies down... And glances at Pheobe.

Comet limps close behind Kinkajou, as fast as he can, eager to get back.

Fly finds a gecko and brings it to Ninji.

Kinkajou twisted her head and nuzzled Comet.. uhm... that way?

ooc- What's going on?

((OOC: Comet fell behind, so, Cloud stayed with him and called for help. Quija, Kinkajou, John, and Petal responded to the calls but now all of them are lost and trying to find their way back. They gave out some calls, which Ninji, Ponda, and Phoebe heard and wanted to investigate, but Ninja stopped them. Phoebe is being persistent and wants to check on who was giving out the calls, thinking it could be someone who's hurt. While Ninja wants to do the same, he's feeling conflicted since he doesn't want to loose anymore of his children.))

ooc: Night pretty much explained it all X3

Ninji's attention on the potentially imperiled "strangers" is diverted as Fly generously offered her a gecko. She instantly recognizes what it is as she's seen them before. Hey, that's a gecko. Neat! While confined to burrow grounds, she would watch them scuttle by in amusement. The way they move looks funny. Still feeling hungry, she doesn't hesitate to experiment with tasting a gecko for the very first time. She begins chomping down on the gecko, emitting a churr of delight as its scrumtious flavor tickled her taste buds. It's delicious but not as delicious as the scorpion. After polishing off the prey item, Ninji emits a thankful peep to Fly, her worries all but gone for the moment.

Ninja rears up on his hind legs, looking in the direction he remembers hearing the distress vocalizations coming from. He's very tempted to go investigate but is apprehensive of what he could get himself in to. What if he falls into a trap? Then there's a serious possibility. What if these mystery meerkats are in real danger? He won't know unless he does decide to take the risk and go check it out.

Comet smiles at Kinkajou... He's hoping they're going in the right direction and continues forward...

Kinkajou smiles and starts picking up the Jumaa's scent..she chirped desperately.

ooc: I'll cover Linda for Meyerm.

Linda had heard the distress calls of the mystery meerkats and is tempted to go investigate the situation. Like her mate, she's apprehensive of them being rivals. Plus, she's responsible for supervising Tyson. She doesn't want to leave him unattended, not even for a few minutes, as that'd give an oppurtunistic predator the chance to take his life in a heart beat. She decides not to get involved in the situation and continues watching Tyson. She doesn't notice a handful of members are missing.

Phoebe soon whines in defeat and laid down beside Ponda. As much as she wanted to go and see who made the calls, she knew her father was only looking out for herself, Ninij, and Ponda. She hoped, however, gave out the calls before were okay and not hurt.
