Roleplay-10th of July 2009

As Buckeye approached the burrow, her first instinct was to check her fighters. Keeko was injured, but he was right by her side. She could see Simmons, and as he approached, she groomed him. Now that all the ground forces were acounted for, she limped toward the entrance of teh burrow. Verniece had been guarding the pups, but she hadn't appeared since the battle began. She led the way below, searching frantically for the three youngsters.

I think we will just have to make it that Verneice, Hutch and Splash survive, cause Sammi and Pancake haven't been here in a while.

Keeko followed Buckeye. He was afraid that Verneice, Hutch and Splash hadn't made it, but he could hear familiar murmerings from the burrow. He sighed with relief and knew that his family had made it through.

Finding Verniece huddling together with the two pups, Buckeye gave a sigh of relief. She returned to the entrance of the burrow and collapsed in exhaustment. Everyone was safe. A little battered up, but above all, no one was fatally injured. And wahat was even better, her pups were due in only a few days. And with the addition of Simmons, the group is even stronger.

When are her pups due? I think i decided that the pregnancy period here would be half of that for real meerkats, which would be about 35 days? I'll double chack that but other wise Buckeye's pups are due around the 10th of August. I hope that's okay.

Keeko lay down by Buckeye, just as exhausted. Luckily, they had all made it. He lay still, not having the energy to move much. This was a significant win for the Willows. Maybe next time the Devils would think twice before raiding their territory.

Buckeye lay next to Keeko, grooming her top male. Even though Simmons was strong and worthy of dominance, Buckeye only had sights for Keeko. But not to belittle his importance, she went over to Simmons and groomed him, as well as Verniece. She then went over to the two young pups and began to nurse them. They all had a rough day, and now was a time to celebrate their victory. Although she isn't the meerkat who goes looking for fights, Buckeye would make sure the Devils understood that raiding their territory would always be a bad mistake.

Okay. I'll try and keep the roleplay going, but at the moment it's kinda dead...

Keeko looked up at Buckeye and smiled. When he first met her, he didn't realise how important she would become to him. If anything every happened to her, he wasn't sure how he would handle it. But he put that thought aside. She was here know, that's all that mattered. He stretched and stood up. Maybe they should forage for just a little while, he was sure that everyone would want some food.

Buckeye also believed that the group needed to forage. They had spent the whole morning fighting, and still had no breakfast. Making lead calls, Buckeye led the group deep into their territory. This wasn't only a mission for food, but a mission to change burrows. With the Devils close by, she wanted to take no chances running into them again. And with the Twizzlers, Twilights, and Little Cloyds even closer, she knew she had to keep her family safe, no matter the cost.

Verniece followed Buckeye, keeping Hutch and Splash close while watching for dangers. She came out of the battle with minor injuries that will heal, and has high hopes for the Willows, knowing it will be a safe place for her and Hutch.

No problem! Sorry that you missed all the action though.

Keeko offered to be the first sentry. He too had minor injuries too, but a large wound had been left on his cheek by Juamba. He scratched it gingerly, but it wasn't anything that wouldn't heal.

Np! glad ur back!

As Keeko stayed on sentry, Buckeye foraged with the other group members. The battle had left her scarred and bruised, so she needed all the nutrients she could get in order to recover. She sniffed and at last came across the scent of food in the sand. She dug furiously, with her head fully in the hole. Finally, she removed her head, holding a juicy scorpion in her mouth. She hid in the bushes, making sure none of her family would go near her supper.

Keeko saw Buckeye go, but he didn't disturb her.

Once the group had had enough to eat, Buckeye decided to get a move on. They needed to find a suitable home before dark. She headed deeper into their territory.

Keeko followed, taking place at Buckeye's side. It wasn't long before they found a suitable burrow, but was it safe? Keeko slowly moved forward to investigate.

Verniece follows Buckeye, keeping Hutch close to her.

Buckeye followed Keeko into the burrow. Although it was in their territory, teh Willows had no idea if intruders had infiltrated it. Before descending, she scent marked Verniece, Hutch, and Splash, making sure they stayed above ground where it was safe.

Before heading down, Buckeye also called Simmons. They needed all the help they could get if they came across enemy meerkats.

Keeko carefully explored the burrow. He couldn't see anything, or smell anything. Satisfied it was safe, he returned to the surface, and sat guard at the burrow mouth.

Also seeing nothing, Buckeye led Simmons above ground, and the Willows sat at the burrow of their new home.

Keeko leaned over and groomed Buckeye. He was glad to have her as a mate. And he was glad that he had found the Willows, for living by himself had been a nightmare.

Buckeye gracioulsy returned the favor to Keeko and started to groom him back. It had been terrible living alone, but now the two were the dominants of a mighty strong group. If they can defeat one of the scariest mobs on the savannah, then they can do anything.

When finished grooming Buckeye, Keeko gathered Verniece, Hutch, Splash and Simmons and began to groom them too, strengthening the familie's bond.

I was just wondering, i we wanted to do roving males, how does that process go again??

With a little bit of light still left, Buckeye resumed the house-keeping. If her family was to live her for the enxt few days, it had to be clean and suitable to support them all.

Do you mean permanent roving males? I'm gonna open a section in the how to about that, but this is what i planned. A permanent rover is a rover that lives in the wild groups, but cannot join one of the roleplay groups. They can come roving at the at the roleplay groups and mate with the females, they don't play every day. Thats what I've got, if i need to I'll edit it. I have two rovers, Wagner (Pronounced VARG-ner) and his brother Vardi. Hope that helps.

Keeko joined Buckeye in the house work. When he was finished, he dissapeared below ground to get some well earned rest.

Buckeye stayed above ground, wanting to see the sun set. Her belly was swollen now, so the pups would be here in a few weeks time. Happy with this thought of being a first time mom, she started grooming Verniece and Simmons, and then nursed the two tired pups. They all had a very long day.
