Roleplay - 5th of October

Keeko ran over to where Luna was to investigate.

Jackie runs over to Luna, warily.

Snowflake follows Jackie.

Linda looks around. She doesn't see anything. She didn't smell anything either. Linda looks at the others, worried.

Tank climbs up a small tree to try to scout out what the worring scent could be but as he scans the horizon carefully, there still seems to be no sign of what it could be.

Meanwhile, Lancaster and Josephine are spending a romantic time together under the large camel thorn tree that is located on a healthy patch of green grass. Josephine grooms Lancaster tenderly down his neck as Lancaster grooms her tenderly on her shoulder. Suddenly Lancaster spots a heard of springbok in the distance and notices one of them putting on a graceful show of leaps and sprints. He peeps in awe as he watches the graceful springbok perform its talent. Josephine looks up and smiles as she too watched the entertainment.

Back at the relaxing wild group, the dominant female decides its time to get moving and barks to her group to follow. They've still got alot of land to claim and a rival group to run clean off their land. Some of the members arouse quickly and follow eagerly while others are more reluctant and slow to follow but eventually everyone gets back to what they were doing, stealing the Willows land and food supply. The males get to scent marking anything from bushes to trees while other males go on gaurd to keep a look out for the Willows. The more they advance in Willows territory the more land they want to steal and the more viciously determined they become to want to keep it.

While the group has been resting, Mischka has successfully managed to entice a third female away from the group. He and the female engage in some tender grooming in the tall grass and Mischka waits patiently for when she's ready to mate.

Back at the wild group's babysitting burrow, the other rover, Ninja, is still waiting for his chance to make a move but his timing is proving to be hard to choose since the females are being too vigilant. Babysitter 1 has picked up the Willow's scent and scans the area nervously while the other babysitter immediately returns below ground to protect the pups. Babysitter 1 lets out a series of nervous chirps. She smells the Willows but can't see them. Have they finally been discovered living in their rival's territory? In the bushes nearby, Ninja also catches the scent of the Willows but for him it just means more females. He peers through an opening in the bush and looks off into the distance waiting and hoping that the Willows will appear. He could care less what happens to the wild group's babysitters and pups all he cares about is getting a female out of this. In the chaos of the raid, he'll try to entice a female away. He's well aware that he's taking a huge risk of intefearing with a potentially deadly situation but that's how Ninja likes to live, on the dangerous side.

ooc- I think StormyMeerkat intended for Luna to smell the other mob. I don't see what else it might be.

ic- Linda sniffs around. Now she smells it. She looks around, expecting to see the source, but still nothing.

ooc: Ok

Tank double checks the area but still nothing.

Josephine flicks her tail in content then nuzzles Lancaster. She raises up on all 4s wanting to continue their walk together.

Lancaster smiles sweetly and follows Josephine eagerly unaware that they are heading straight for the dangerous wild meerkat group.

Buckeye suddenly smells something too. She goes on the alert, ans she soon spots evidence of rival group intrusion. As she looked back at her family, she noticed Lancaster and Josephine were gone. With two members down and a rival group in their terriotory, Buckeye's leadership was going to be put to the test once again. She makes lead calls and starts running in the direction of the rival group scent, hoping to find her missing Willows in the process.

Glade trots behind Vernieice and Hutch, anxiously waiting to see what the group does.

Tank discovers a letraine on a bush and immediately becomes concerned. The rival group must be near by and could strike at any moment. He goes on high alert and scan the area intently.

Meanwhile Lancaster and Josephine are enjoying their romantic walk, nuzzling and playfully chasing after each other but each step they take only takes them closer to the vicious wild group.

Linda trembles when she hears the call. She follows, but at a walking pace, not being able to go much faster. She was too weak to get involved in another battle.

Leon growled and followed Buckeye.

Megan stayed close by Leon.

Tank follows with his tail erect ready to fight at first sight of the wild group.

Lancaster suddenly picks up the scent of the rival wild group and becomes alarmed. He stands on his hind legs and steps protectively in front of Josephine. If they are suddenly ambushed and surrounded by the wild group, he'll lay down his life for her to escape.

Josephine picks up the scent of the rival wild group and sticks close to Lancaster for protection. Even though 2 meerkats wouldn't stand a chance against a whole group, she still felt safe around him and can sense he'd know what to do to get them out of danger if they are caught.

At the wild group's babysitting burrow, babysitter 1 can smell the Willow's scent intensifying and begins to panic. She sends out frantic alarm barks as she nervously scans the area expecting them to appear in the very near future. below ground, babysitter 2 is offering the pups another feed as well as protection. If the Willows raid the burrow she'll lay down her life to keep the pups safe..

Leon can hear the faint alarm barks of another meerkat, but it didn't sound like a Willow. He sounded an alarm of his own.

Linda goes at a steady pace towards the mob, their scent getting stronger. She won't fight, she's too weak to, but being the clever meerkat she was that wanted to help anyway she could, decides to take a non-combat role in the attack. She'll stay a safe distance away from the fighting and act as sentry, warning them of any reinforcements this unknown mob might bring.

Hearing Leon's alarm, Tank stands on his hind legs and suddenly picks up the faint barks of another meerkat. He tilts his head in the direction where the barks are coming from.

At the burrow, babysitter 1 has become panic striken and begins to sound out lead calls hoping the main group will catch wind of them and hurry home to the rescue but what she's doing is unwittingly leading the Willows to their location. A mistake that will cost her dearly.

Still in the cover of the bush, Ninja waits to see what happens, drawn in by the excitement.

Keeko re-scent marked the area, to reclaim it as Willow Territory. Upon hearing Leon's calls, he bounded forward and began a war-dance.

Jackie can hear the babysitter's calls and barks. She starts war-dancing in the direction they are coming from.

Snowflake runs after Jackie.

What they were running towards was now in sight. It must be a babysitting burrow, seeing the burrow entrance and only one meerkat guarding the outside. Linda stops short a safe distance away and stands next to some shrubs. She'll warn them if she sees anything approaching. Adrenaline was pumping, giving her a temporary boost of energy. She was still too weak to fight though. She stands looking around as the others pass her. As long as the rest of the mob doesn't come from behind her she should be all right alone.

Buckeye sees the babysitting burrrow and the intruders. With a rallying call, she war-dances toward the babysitters. With her pups in toe, she wasn't going to let this rival group get anywhere near the Willows.

Verniece stood behind with the pups Linda as Hutch followed Buckeye to battle.

Leon also war danced close to Buckeye and Keeko.


Megan watched what the adults did and copied their wardance, of course, being a pup, her wardance was slightly more sloppy.

Linda sees the pups and Verniece with her. Verniece could tend to the pups while she stays as sentry. She barks, asking Verniece to watch them while she moves to a hill a little far off to get a higher vantage point.

Tank can hear the lead calls of the babysitter increase in volume as he trots in the direction they are coming from. Suddenly he comes to the brow of a dune where some of the Willows have already gathered and spots the wild group's babysitting burrow. Noticing one babysitter preseant above ground he turns his head towards her making his villanous looking scar look more visible in the light and stares her straight in the eyes with the coldest glare he'd ever given a rival. A rival groups preseance WILL NOT be tolerated in Willows territory especially when they're staying so close to the Willows main burrow. With Willow pups on the way, they can't afford to allow the rival group to continue thriving here. Having found where the rival group has settled, Tank knows this is the time to wipe out as much as the competition as possible and they've found them when they're at their weakest, babysitting. Tank erects his tail ready for war. He charges down the dune behind Buckeye not afraid to kill.

The babysitter has spotted the Willows wardancing down the sand dune and runs to save herself leaving her sister and the pups to face the Willows alone. She's not up for a fight and knows her and her sister won't be able to stand a chance against this large group. But for her it's every meerkat for herself. below ground, babysitter 2 is unaware that her sister has ditched her and the pups to save herself. She wraps around the pups protectively and grooms them reassuring them that she won't let anything bad happen to them. She glances down the burrow tunnel. If the Willows are able to infiltrate the burrow she'll fight to the death to keep the pups safe.

Ninja sees the Willows charging down the sand dune and watches the action unfold with interest. He has front row seats to a potentially deadly burrow raid and is act risk of being spotted and chased off. But he chooses to hang around to wait for a chance to entice a female away.

Linda remains on her sand dune looking around for a group of meerkats headin gin their direction. Unaware of a rover's presence, she stands alone, looking for the rest. Seeing the one above ground flee, she feels it's safe to get closer, but waits for the others to head into the burrow first.

Leon snarled, seeing the female run, he knew the pups were more likely to be left unguarded. He thought to himself 'This is usually when dominants will lead a charge full speed now that there is no one to display to.'

Tank pauses half way down the sand dune to check to see if the rest of the wild group is returning home but with no sign of them, he continues wardancing toward the burrow.

Linda gets off of her post and walks over closer to the group. She takes sentry on a stump not too far away from the others. Still no rival mob.
