Roleplay - 10th of October

Tank scans the sky. Nothing. He turns his focus on the horizon. Nope no danger there either. Tank chirps an all clear to the group.

Hearing his brother's all clear, Lancaster takes the oppertunity to take a quick nap. He lays down on his side and closes his eyes.

Jackie is also not having any problems predator wise. The jackal pup was the only threat that had appeared.

Linda is surprised when Luna comes. She was evicted too? It makes her wonder who else was evicted. Luna was the one that was warning them about the risk of eviction earlier today, which made her more surprised. She allows her to follow and waits patiently for Verniece to make a decision.

Verniece decides to follow Linda, not thinking that any of them should split when they are so vulnerable.

Buckeye thanked Tank and Lancaster for their swift thinking and returned back to foraging.

Hutch was still on centry, watching Glade begging for food from her elders.

Linda starts leading out with no particular destination in mind. She stays at the head of the little group and walks along the sand, stopping and standing to look for a spot every now and then.

Tank nods at Buckeye greatful to have offered protection from the jackal pup then continues looking out for danger.

Lancaster is laying flat on his back snoring, enjoying his nap.

Linda soon finds a good foraging spot not too far away from the abandoned burrow. The burrow was just out of their range of sight to see. She starts foraging, asking someone else to take sentry duty for now.

Verniece takes centry as she lets the rest of her evicted companions forage. She keeps an eye out for Maylene, the Willows, and predators.

Buckeye, finished with foraging, walks around, indpecting the activity of the rest of her family. She wanted them to all be safe, and to avoid the company of unwanted guests.

Hutch, done with centry, has his head in a large hole. Glade sits behind him, waiting for her share. But Hutch knows the pup is old enough to start finding her own food. She'll be very lucky if she can get Hutch's meal from him.

Tank decides to take a break from sentry duty and leaps down from his post to do a little foraging. He pads over to a bush and digs into the ground quickly pulling up a scorpion. As it tries to escape, Tank picks it up by its stinger and devours it in less than a minute.

Lancaster is still in a sleep. He's unaware that the group is moving ahead of him.

Linda finds a scorpion and quickly snatches it before it gets away. She eats it and moves on to something else. What originally started out as a pair of evictees helping eachother fend for their lives has turned into a nice little group. She hopes their eviction was only temporary.

Tank moves out into the open. He pulls up a skink and eats it quickly.

A sound spooks Lancaster awake. He rolls onto his belly and glances around. He realizes the sound was just a drongo pecking at the ground, looking for any insects that may be close to the ground surface. Lancaster stands up on his hind legs and surveys his surroundings. He sees the Willows several yards away from him and hurries after them to keep up.

Linda resumes foraging. Once Buckeye's pups are born she's going to try to rejoin the Willows. She hopes it works. She doesn't want to live alone, not again. She knows they can't keep their little band of evictees together forever. She's unaware that the jackal pup is close to them.

Sitting far behind the rest of the group, tired Josephine yawned and continued to watch the small figures of the evicted females standing sentry in the near distance. Knowing how difficult an evictee’s life is, Josephine makes her decision and trots away from her position to try and help out Linda, Maylene and Verniece, also unaware of the jackel pup's movements.

Unaware of Josephine aiding the evicted females, Lancaster catches up to the group panting. Refreshed from his nap, he decides to take over for Tank and goes on gaurd. He climbs up onto a fallen down tree and stands balanced on the edge of one of the branches.

Tank finds a baby mole snake in a bush. He bobs his head but doesn't make spit or growl calls. He sees it as a juicy meal and not much of a threat. The baby snake suddenly strikes but Tank is quick and dodges its defensive assault by jumping back quickly. He swiftly lunges at the snake and pulls it out from the bush with his front paws and clamps down on its head killing it instantly. He begins to devour it inch by inch.

Linda doesn't notice Josephine approach or the jackal pup, too busy foraging. She claws at the ground, trailing off with her thoughts. Many unanswered questions raced around in her mind. Where there other evictees? Was she pregnant? Will they be let back into the Willows? Will Ninja return? She thinks a moment, then returns to foraging. She'll find out the answers sooner or later.

Lancaster isn't as good as a sentry as his brother is and starts to get distracted. He spots 2 drongos chasing each other in the sky and watches them. He finds their aerial antics to be entertaining and comical.

Tank starts to wander from the group as he forages. He comes across a bolthole with a strangely shaped entrance and sniffs around the rim of the entrance. He can smell that a strange creature of some sort has recently been occupying it. He stands up on his hind legs and glances over his shoulder. The Willows are still close by. He glances back at the wanky bolthole entrance and ponders over whether he should venture in and check it out or forget about it and just keep following the group. Tank weighs up his options.

Linda looks up from the ground and spots Josephine. Was she evicted too? She lets out a bark, alerting the others, and curiously walks over, wanting to see if Josephine was evicted as well.

Tank steps half way into the bolthole then hesitates. By venturing into a strange home of another animal, he's taking a risk of being surprised and/or attacked if he's caught off gaurd by a predator that could be inside. He can smell a fresh strong scent of something that could be deep inside. Tank fully enters the bolthole and starts to navegate his way through the tunnel unsure of what he might encounter deep within the heart of the bolthole. It seems he's made up his mind. He's going to check things out. With Buckeye's litter due very soon, he wants to make sure no predators are residing close to the Willows main burrow. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Unaware of his brother's potentially dangerous exploration close by, Lancaster has started to get bored with sentry duty and is spread out with his limbs dangling from the tree branch. He rests his head on his right arm and gazes off into the distance. There's no sign of danger for miles so what's there to be worried about?

Linda approaches Josephine and looks for an eviction mark, but doesn't find one. Josephine wasn't evicted. She chirps, greeting her. She assumes she's here for the same reason Lancaster was before. Linda barks, warning Josephine that she can get evicted too if Buckeye finds out.

Luna decides to stand sentry while the others dig.

Cautiously, Tank rounds a corner as he ventures deeper into the bolthole. He sniffs all around him thoroughly. The strange scent seems to becoming more potent as he gets closer to the end of the bolthole. Suddenly, Tank's eyes lock on a silhouetted shape in the darkness. The scent of what ever it could be is now over powering. Before Tank could try to make out what it could be, an eery growl is heard from the unknown animal sending chills down his spine. Suddenly the animal lunges at Tank spooking him and sending him dashing out of the bolthole. As the animal surfaces, it turns out to be a female yellow mongoose who was defending her young from the unwanted visitor.

Lancaster starts to doze off on the job. Not a very smart thing to do when performing a duty which you have so many lives in your paws.

Linda doesn't want Josephine to be evicted too. She chirps, concerned that their encounter could cost Josephine her position in the mob. They all know Buckeye's been throwing her weight around recently, and the chances of eviction are at an all time high for those still in the mob.

Tank dashes a few yards away from the bolthole then comes to an abrupt stop. He wants to know what exactly chased him out of the bolthole. He glances over his right shoulder and sees the female yellow mongoose standing protectively in front of the bolthole entrance. He whips around and stands on his hind legs keeping his posture as straight as possible to make himself look bigger and more intimidating. He isn't about to let a cousin of the meerkat send him into submission that easily. He doesn't blame her for ousting him out of her home to protect her pups. She's just doing what any mother would do, defend her pups with her life. But she could still pose a threat to Buckeye's pups if she's still lingering in Willows territory. Tank doesn't want her or her pups around. He stares her down, hoping she'll get the gist.

Lancaster jolts awake when he nearly falls off the tree branch. He quickly sits up realizing that he fell asleep on an important duty. Not very responsible. Lancaster wobbles onto his hind legs trying not to lose his balance and fall off the narrow tree branch. He makes it up on his back legs and ressumes his sentry duty. He looks around embarrassed and with a guilty concious hoping no body saw his irresponsibility.

Jackie is still on sentry duty.

Snowflake is lying awake in the shade.

Still unaware of the jackal pup roaming around close to them, Linda stands and looks for the mob. She didn't see them. She cares for Josephine, and doesn't want her evicted because of them.
