Roleplay - 10th of October

Tank catches up to the group and glances around, wondering where they're going next.

Lancaster pads along side Josephine. He hopes where Buckeye leads the group to next will have lots and lots of scorpions. He glances at Josephine smiling sweetly. He wants to mate but knows it'll be too risky now that Buckeye's mood swings have become more aggressive. He doesn't want to get Josephine into big trouble with Buckeye. He may need to wait until after Buckeye gives birth to mate.

Linda follows up behind Buckeye at the front. She looks at Lancaster and Josephine. She knows they're close, and she has an uncertain feeling about what might happen. If Josephine was to get pregnant, there could be a big problem in the mob.

Lancaster glances at Josephine. He's made his decision. He's going to wait until Buckeye to gives birth to mate. He doesn't want to risk Josephine getting evicted.

Tank smiles at his brother proud that he made the right choice but even if they choose to mate after Buckeye gives birth, it's still taking a risk. Breeding is strictly reserved for the dominant pair of a group and if Josephine becomes pregnant she could still risk getting pregnant around the time Buckeye might and that could still raise tension between the 2 females. Tank glances at Maylene. He's already made the mistake to mate when Buckeye is pregnant and he's still worried about what could happen to her between now and when Buckeye gives birth. He knows that Maylene has a high risk of being evicted from the group.

Linda keeps up still in her position towards the front. She was in a good position, and didn't want to end that by getting involved. Tank was still a friend of hers, though, and she wanted to help him and Maylene.

Buckeye knew her subordintaes were wary. A few more days, and she would give birth, and her instincts and aggression would ease. However, out of all the females, her biggest threat laid with the oldest and the ones who have been with her the longest. Buckeye kept her eye on all of them, especially Maylene. Although loyal, Maylene being pregnant could prove disasterous for Buckeye's unborn litter.

Verniece was one of the oldest, so she was an easy target for Buckeye. Ironically, she sought protection from her much younger brother Hutch.

Linda follows Buckeye, starting to get bored with waiting for Buckeye to lead them to their next foraging spot.

Tank notices Buckeye eyeing Maylene. If she chose to evict her, he won't try to stop her. After all it is female buisness when it comes to asserting breeding rights. But he's worried about the well being of the pups he fathered. If anything bad happens to them he'll be crushed.

Lancaster scratches at the ground as he trots along side Josephine. Nope. Still no scorpions.

Linda notices Tank. He looked troubled from her view. She slows down until she's at his side. In truth, she didn't know what will happen, but still tries to help out by reassuring him that Buckeye just might allow Maylene to stay and the pups to live.

Tank smiles at Linda. His worries suddenly disappear as she reassures him of Maylene's fate. He believes Maylene and the pups will be just fine and keeps his thoughts on the possitive thought that maybe Buckeye will allow her to stay. He looks down at the ground and grins from ear to ear. He's estatic about becoming a first time father.

Lancaster glances to his right as he hears exessive chirping. He spots a camel thorn tree with a large weavers birds next strewn throughout its branches. It worries him to see this because weaver birds often attract cape cobras and with Buckeye's pups due in 10 days, the presence of a cape cobra could spell disaster if one were to makes its home dangerously close to the Willows' main burrow.

Linda decides to stay near Tank and Maylene. She looks ahead, trying to guess spots Buckeye might decide to settle down at. The traveling was starting to make her hungry again.

Buckeye finally stops at a fruitful field. It is surrounding by shrubs, tall grass, and some bolt holes. They hadn't visited this area for several months. She begins digging and finds that their is plenty of variety here. She chirps, letting the others know it is safe to start foraging.

Linda is relieved that they finally arrived at a new spot. She looks around and starts foraging again.

Wilson crosses the border into Willow's territory and starts heading deeper in. He sniffs the ground and the air, trying to pick up the location of the mob.

Unaware of Wilson and Lithium just arriving in their territory, Jackie starts digging for food.

Snowflake also starts digging for food.

Lancaster bounds over to a bush and claws into the ground, hoping to find a scorpion. He pulls up a juicy beetle. He sighs disappointed that it wasn't a scorpion but it's food that shouldn't be wasted. He decides to eat it.

Tank stands up keeping his posture straight and stands perfectly balanced on his hind legs and tail. He glances to his right and stares off into the distance with a serious expression on his face. He's decided to take up sentry duty.

Linda continues foraging and digs up some grubs, which she eats. After a bit of foraging, she's satisfied and decides to lay down and rest a little.

Lancaster scours around the bush but isn't getting lucky as he continues his quest for scorpions. The only things he's finding are, lizards, beetles, beetle larvae, a grasshopper and skinks. He's pulled up another beetle and gobbles it down quickly.

Tank glances to his left. He can see the camel thorn tree with the weaver bird nest that Lancaster had seen earlier. He's not bothered by it but knows the dangers a weaver bird nest could hold or draw. He goes on hieghtened alert anyway just incase a cape cobra just happens to appear. He's unaware of the rovers Wilson, Lithium and Ninja in Willows territroy.

With his nose to the ground, Ninja has picked up the Willows scent. He stands on his hind legs and scans the area to see if they're with in eyesight but so far there's no sign of them. Ninja moves deeper into Willows territory as he continues to track their scent. It's starting to get stronger. He should be getting close now.

Linda decides to start exploring around, something she didn't get to do at the other spot. She gets up and sniffs around and starts exploring, slowly spreading out and getting farther away from the main group.

Wilson catches the scent of the Willows and tells Lithium. They've come across the trail the Willows were just on while they were going from the first foraging spot to the second one. He sniffs around and begins following the trail.

Having finished his meal, Leon climbed up a tall dead tree to keep lookout.

Megan bounded around to every adult and chirped playfully.

Ninja stops at a bush, He sniffs around it. The Willows scent is very potent along here. They've definately been through here and he can tell that the scent is fresh. He stands up on his hind legs and spots the Willows in the distance foraging. He snickers. Gotcha! Time to cause mayhem and chaos! He notices Linda foraging away from the group unoticed by the Willows and the sentries. The wind is also working with him. It's blowing in his direction keeping his scent out of the sentries' noses reach. Perfect! He siezes this as his oppertunity to strike and slinks stealthly keeping as silent as possible as he moves a few feet closer to her. He lays flat in a bush and waits to see if she notices him.

Tank faces foward as he continues his close scan at the Kalahari landscape. He may be good at spotting predators but he fails to spot Ninja making an advance on Linda.

Too enthralled with his mission to find scorpions, Lancaster is also oblivious to Ninja's presence.

Leon was looking upwind, thinking he could smell a rover better if they approached from that direction, but Ninja was coming from downwind.

Failing to notice Ninja, Linda, who was now a good distance away from the others, spots an area that looks promising. It was an area with a camel thorn tree, different from the one with the weaver birds, which provided shade. There was also a patch of tall grass that was right next to the tree that made the area hidden from the view of the rest of the mob, but the others couldn't see her there. She'll be in and out before anything can happen. Besides, She's never gotten into danger before during all of the other times she went exploring. What's the risk? She heads into the area, hidden from sight of the rest of the mob. She sniffs around, explores the spot a little, and sits in the sun next to a bush. She looks around for predators, seeing none.

Wilson follows the Willow's scent on the trail, which was becoming much stronger. They should be at the Willows momentarily.

Ninja flicks his tail and bobs his head in excitement as Linda sits tantalizingly close to him, so close that he could reach out with his paw to touch her. He glances up from the bush and doesn't spot the Willows as the tall grass in front of the bush blocks his view of being able to see if the sentries are looking in this direction but with the wind working as his ally, what's there to worry about? He tucks his front paws under his chest, which is fluffed out in confidents. He sounds a soft chirp hoping to get Linda's attention.

Tank climbs up onto a small tree and stands balanced one of it's branches. His back is to where Ninja and Linda are but if he turns in that direction, he won't be able to see them anyway as they are blocked by a patch of tall grass.

Lancaster pulls up a spider which almost escapes but he picks it up in his mouth and eats quickly before it could bite his tongue.

Linda hears a chirp from behind her and turns her head to investigate what the sound was. She suddenly sees Ninja and jumps up from where she was sitting, startled. She hisses at Ninja.

Ninja isn't detered by Linda's hiss infact he's impressed by it. (Hmm Fiesty. I like that.) He crawls from out of the bush and sits next to Linda. He churrs and glances at her with a charming smile, reassuring her that he isn't a threat.

Tank scans in all directions and gives the 'watchmans song' call letting them group know that the coast is all clear.

Lancaster glances up at the sentries then gets back to foraging. With avid and experianced sentries on duty he feels safe and secure to continue foraging with no worries.

Linda falls for Ninja's charm and calms down. She was startled at first. Still a little nervous, she stares at Ninja and waits for what he does next.

Meanwhile, Wilson follows the scent left by the Willows. Soon, the trail gets him close enough to see the Willows. He chirps to Lithium, excited. They've found them.
