Roleplay - 10th of October

Ninja glances into Linda's nervous eyes. They looked so pretty as they gleamed in the sunlight. Ninja finds himself attracted to her. He starts to groom her tenderly under her chin.

Tank is distracted by movement in the corner of his left eye. He glance to his left and spots 4 giraffs walking toward a camel thorn tree in the distance. nothing to be concerned about.

Lancaster trots over to the small tree Tank is standing gaurd on and claws into the sand at the tree's base. He pulls up another spider and eats quickly. He growls in frustration as he's failing to find any scorpions.

Linda slowly calms down and starts to groom Ninja back. She has always stayed clear of rovers, but no rover has ever gotten this close to her. She forgets about the risks and starts to groom him tenderly.

Wilson barks to Lithium. Time to close in. He lays low and cautiously creeps closer, avoiding detection. He's not close enough to identify any individuals yet.

Ninja grooms down Linda's neck. he can feel her tention begining to ease. If he keeps himself calm and in control and keep his movements at a nonthreatening level he may be able to get lucky with Linda.

Tank turns his attention to the sky. He looks straight up as a flock of drongos fly over head. If he hears the sound of a goshawk screech he'll know who the real culprit is behind the impersonating sound.

Lancaster suddenly picks up a familiar scent under the sand. Could it finally be what he's looking for? He drills into the ground and pulls up a scorpion. Finally! A scorpion! the scorpion immediately raises its stinger in defense but Lancaster takes it out by swftly biting off the scorpion's stinger then plucks it off the ground with his mouth. He munches down on it happily.

Linda's now calm. All of her worries melt away and and she starts grooming him affectionately. She starts grooming the top of his head as he grooms her neck. She chrrrs as he grooms her.

Ninja continues to groom Linda tenderly on her neck. He chirps softly in content and waits for when she's ready to mate.

Unaware of Linda and Ninja's romantic grooming session, Tank continues to keep his eyes on the skies and horizon. He can't afford to take his eyes off the danger zones for a second as a predator could strike at any moment from anywhere.

Happy that he found what he's been craving for, Lancaster takes a break to groom himself of dirt, sand and insect ooze from his fur.

Leon caught the faint scent of a strange meerkat. The same one he had chased off during the burrow raid. He growled and lept down from his post to search the area.

Ninja raises on his legs then glanced over his shoulder at Linda and churred. He wanted to lead her to a bolthole where they won't be disturbed.

Tank points his nose towards the sky as he catches Ninja's faint scent. He growls and scouts the area trying to spot him but with tall grass dominant in this area trying to spot him is going to be difficult.

Lancaster also picks up the weak scent. He stands up on his hind legs and glances around. It smells exactly like that male he had chased off from the babysitting burrow a while ago. He's back. Lancaster growls and runs to and fro trying to catch sight of him. He was wounded that time he appeared and could only chase him off but this time he's in good health. If he spots him, he'll tear into him like a lion ripping into a zebra.

Megan was unwittingly heading away from the group. She spotted Linda and Ninja. Innocently unaware of their intentions, she padded over and chirped a hello to Ninja, whom she'd never mat before, she was unaware that the rover could be dangerous.

Jackie catches the light scent of Ninja. Unaware of the fact there are other rovers around, Jackie looks for Ninja.

Snowflake is asleep in the shade and is not aware of the situation.

Keeko picks up the scents of the rovers, and alerts the group.
Miley climbs unto a fallen log, so that she could get a better view of the surrounding area.
Crash, who was half-way through catching a scorpion, stops and pokes his head out the hole. The scorpion gets away, but he doesn't care. He wants to be there if the group needs him.

Wilson hears the alert calls from the DM. Unaware of Ninja's presence, he believes the Willows were on to him and Lithium. He stops and quietly alerts Lithium. Even so, he still makes his advance and gets closer, only more cautious.

Linda notices Megan doesn't know how to react. She didn't want Ninja to hurt her, and if she goes back, Megan might tell the others she's with Ninja. She takes her chances. She chirps to Megan, telling her to go back, and peeps to Ninja. They should find another place.

ooc- I was going to have Linda mate, so please don't scare Ninja off.

Lithium stays close to Wilson. He hasn't roved in years, but he still remembered some things. The dominant female was pregnant, and her mate was being protective. The first rule of dumb: never go for the dominants, unless it's clear. He moved on, trying to single out some other females. He saw Megan, Verniece, Jackie, Snowflake, and several others. He peeps to Wilson. They should wait until it calms down first.

Buckeye scans the area, but sees no threat at all. She walks over and scent marks all her females; if there are roving males, she wants to deter them from advancing.

Verniece stares. She notices that Linda is gone, but she doesn't want to alert the group or cause stress.

ooc- Megan's a pup.

Linda chirps again, telling Megan to leave. She starts to get nervous, worried that the others might have noticed Megan or herself gone.

Wilson takes Lithium's advice and stops moving. He checks out the mob himself. They seem to be alerted to their presence, or prehaps there's another rover here?

Alerted, Josephine stands on her back legs and looks around. Not being able to see the rovers she dropped back onto her four paws and chattered nervously as she went looking for Lancaster.

Wilson waits patiently for the perfect time to strike. He sees Tank. That's the male that beat him in the last battle between the Midnights and the Willows, as well as the one that had inflicted most of his injuries from the fight. He growls under his breathe. No one defeats him without a rematch. Maybe in the future...

Megan nodded and looked down, thinking it was something she did wrong that may have made Linda want her to be gone. She heard the alert calls of the group and ran back to them.

Ninja notices Megan looking up at them curiously. He gulps realizing that he could blow his chance with getting lucky with a female if the group catch him this close to one of their pups. He loves pups dearly and doesn't want to chase her off. He churrs to her softly telling her to return to her group. He didn't want her getting into trouble or to end up getting seperated from her group if she chose to follow after him and Linda and he certainly didn't want to find his throat in the fangs of the Willows dominant male if he spots him with the Willows pup. Ninja peeks through the patch of grass and can see the Willows males desperately trying to locate him. He follows Linda and leads her into a patch of dense tall grass.

Tank leaps down from his sentry post and bounds around growling trying to find Ninja. He can smell him but can't seem to visually detect him anywhere.

Realizing that Josephine is ungaurded, Lancaster rushes to her protection and stands next to her protectively. He won't let Ninja or any other rover to get their paws on her. She's his!

Seeing Megan run off. Linda is relieved. She follows Ninja into the grass, wondering where he was leading her.

Wilson eyes the group and begins to decide which female to go after. In the corner of his eye, he sees something above. He looks up. A hawk! He warns Lithium quietly and darts into a nearby bolt hole.

Suddenly, a dark bird shaped shadow casts over Ninja. He glances up at the sky and spots the hawk. He smirks. A predator scare just makes things more convenient for him. The Willows will spot it, the males will stop their desperate man hunt, the group will panic and dash for the nearest bolthole giving him the perfect chance to take Linda somewhere where nobody will notice. He whispers a peep to Linda alerting her of the hawk above them and to keep low in the tall grass.

Unaware of the bird of prey just above them, Tank is too busy keeping his eyes to the horizon trying to spot Ninja and chase him off but he suddenly catches the scent of other rovers in the area. He stands on his hind legs and swivels his head in all directions trying to spot them. He growls bounds around and scent marks a bush trying to scare off any rover that can see him.

Lancaster sniffs at the air. He can smell the other rovers as well. he wraps his arms protectively around Josephine and glances around nervously. The 3 rovers' scents drench the air around them but he can't see where they could be.

Linda sees the hawk and peeps nervously to him. They needed to find a bolt hole. She sticks her head out of the grass and sees one. She chirps, telling him to follow.

Ninja follows close behind Linda. He glances over his shoulder making sure they couldn't be seen or were being followed by any of the Willows males.

Tank continues furiously scent marking and digging, still oblivious to the hawk above.

Lancaster sees the hawk's shadow glide past on the ground. He looks up and spots the hawk soring above over the group but is too frozen in fear to sound the alarm. The sight of the hawk brings back a bad memory of a tragic event that happened when he was a pup. When Tank led him and their littermates on an adventure away from the burrow, one of their littermates was killed by a hawk and ever since then, Lancaster has developed a fear of hawks. He send out a series of paniced chirps and sits on his haunches trying to keep as low as he can hoping the hawk doesn't spot and target him as a potential meal.

Linda darts into the bolt hole and goes down towards the bottom, chirping for Ninja to follow. She lays down there.

Panicked by the hawk, Josephine bolts away from the shadow of the predator and seeks cover under a bush. Worrying for her familiy she barks low contact calls to the other members.

Leon was about to dash for a bolthole when he realized he couldn't see Megan anywhere. He called out to her desperatly, but he couldn't hear any calls back.

Ninja dashes into the bolthole after Linda. He crawls through the narrow tunnel following her to the deepest part of the bolthole. He lays down next to her. The Willows will have no idea where they had gone to. He smiles charmingly at Linda and starts to groom her tenderly.

Tank stands up on his hind legs growling then returns to scent marking and digging. He'll keep up his persistant rover repellent tactics until he chases off the rovers.

Lancaster keeps his eyes glued on the hawk and stands protectively in front of Josephine. He'll protect her with his life if he has too. He follows Josephine over to the shelter of the bush. Hopefully the hawk hadn't seen them already and had tracked their movements. Lancaster sees his brother furiously scent marking and digging out in the open. He sends out a shrilled bark alerting his brother. There's lives at stake now and it's more important to seek shelter from a deadly predator than to try to chase off annoying rovers.

Tank hears his brother's shrilled bark and glances up noticing Lancaster and Josephine taking cover under a bush. He sees Lancaster make a gesture at the sky with his nose and looks up suddenly realizing the hawk soring just over head. Asessing his dangerous situation, Tank sends out loud warning barks helping Josephine to alert the group. He dashes for the shelter of the bush and keeps his eyes locked on the bird of prey. Any sign of a dive toward the group then they'll have to make swift dash to the nearest bolthole.
