Roleplay - 15th of July 2009

Luke emerged. He scent marked the burrow, indicating that it now belonged to the Twizzlers. Alex emerged too. he kept his distance from Luke, as he had been displaying his domiannce over his brother in the past few days. Luke didn't appear to be doing so today, but Alex wasn't going to risk it.

Hershey then emerged from the burrow. She stretched and then began to groom herself. She looked at the two males and chirped happily. Alex, however, looked wary, so she walked over to him for a little comfort grooming.

Luke lokked over as soon as Hershey moved over to Alex. He charged over, chirping angrily at Alex, and placed himself between the two. Alex snorted and stood up, leaving the two. He was sure Hershey wouldn't stay long wither, because no one likes a bossy boots!

Deciding it was time to explore, Hershey led Alex and Luke on a mission to explore their territory. Although young, she was adapting to the leadership role. And it seemed that one thing other than food was on her mind: mating.

Alex followed, his face clearly showing that he wasn't particulary pleased with how things were turning out. Luke was trailing Hershey like a pup follows it's mum. And he clearly had the same idea on mind.

Near a grove of trees on the horizon a lone figure stood, watching the three. Her name was Starburst, and she bobbed her head, watching them with caution. She had no idea what would happen if she tried to approach, and wouldn't risk it just yet. But, she needed a place to stay..
After her eviction from her old family, for merely having the misfortune of being the oldest, she was unable to rejoin and has been on her own since.

Alex noticed the female, and chirped to Luke and Hershey. Luke wasn't paying much attention so Alex approached her, trying not to scare her.

Hershey, seeing the intruder, decided to lead a charge. This would be her first test of leadership. She sprinted toward Starburst, hoping that the other males' hormones didn't get in their way.

Starburst bobbed her head at Alex and moved closer. She jumped when she saw Hershey leading them closer, and realized it was either fight or flight. She bobs her head for a moment, but doesn't leave.

As Hershey approached Starburst, she saw that she wasn't budging. Her defiance slowed Hershey down a bit, but she kept up the charge. When she finally got to Starburst, she attemted to dominate the female by scent-marking her. However, Starburst was putting up a huge fight.

Starburst hadn't really thought of what would happen if she were to run into a fight like this. At first, she allowed the scent marking but soon got tired of it and scent-marked Hershey herself, showing she wasn't going to take it.

Hershey saw that her scent-marking wasn't working. She began to display her fangs and claws, preparing herself for a fight for dominance. But as she looked at Starburst, her confidence was wavering.

Starburst, even though she knew she was older and had an advantage, was sloightly intimidated but didn't want to back down. She bared her fangs at Hershey and was the first to attack, sinking her teeth into Hershey's shoulder.

Alex chirped into suprise. Things had changed rapidly! Luke sat by, not sure what to do.

Howling in pain, Hershey tried to scratch Starburst, but the pain in her shoulder was mind-boggling. She ripped herself free, but there was a huge gash in her shoulder. She unced on Starburst and started to nip her face. But Starburst was much stronger and older. It was a tough fight.

Starburst shook Hershey off easily and growled. She wouldn't be pushed around by a female, especially after being evicted. She hip slams her aside and attempts to pin her.

Feeling the pain, Hershey finally gave up. She sprinted off and hid underneath a bush. She nursed her wounds, seeing that the challenges of leadership weren't always pleasant.

Starburst watched Hershey for a moment..she hadn't expected to win this. She blinked and looked around. After being alone for so long, there were ticks crawling on her face and she twitched her nose irritably. She was only looking for a family, but now, it looks like she leads this group.
She approaches Alex and Luke, bobbing her head with a small, tentative chirp.

Luke chirped back. He leant forward to groom Starburst. Alex chirped aswell, and ran over to Hershey. He chirped at her, grooming her wounds. He didn't care if Hershey was dominant or not, he still liked her.

Glad to have at least Alex by her side, Hershey gently groomed him. Her injuries were severe, so she would need a lot of sustinance in order to recover. She walked submissively past Starburst and began to painfully dig for a meal in the dirt.

Luke had now turned his attention to Starburst rather than Hershey. After making sure that she was okay, he returned the Starburst's side. Alex sat by Hershey, keeping an eye out for possible danger.

Starburst smiled at Luke and watched Hershey, feeling a bit guilty. She hadn't meant to hurt her that badly. She herself had some wounds, but nothing that wouldn't recover. She walks over to her and chin-swiped her, then groomed her softly, hoping she was okay.

Hershey graciously groomed Starburst back, and then walked over to Alex. She nuzzled him, glad to still be back in the group.

Alex nudged Hershey affectionately. Luke stood guard over the group.

Hershey walked over to Starburst and began grooming her. It was her way of saying that she would follow her instructions from now on. Hershey began to forage around the area, looking for a meal.
