Roleplay - 15th of July 2009

Keeko cautiously left the burrow. It had been a few days since the Devils had attacked them, however he still kept a careful eye out. He sat upright by the burrow, telling the others it was safe to come out.

As Buckeye emrged from the burrow, it was clear that her injuries were healing quick. Her stomach was very swollen, as her pups were less than a month away now. She chirped, persuading the rest of teh family to come above ground. She then went to Keeko and began grooming.

Verniece emerged from the burrow with Hutch in tow, smiling when she saw Buckeye's belly. She'd always loved pups and was excited for a chance to babysit them when they were born. She grooms Buckeye in greeting and chirps to Keeko.

Keeko was also excited about the pups. He chirped happily to her, and nuzzled her lovingly. He was determined to be the best father the pups copuld have.

Simmons then appeared above ground. He happily chirped at Buckeye and Keeko, but as he sat down, another thing was on his mind. Ever since joining the Willows, he has had an affection toward Verniece. Although both are subordinate, with a female so close, it is hard for this one-time rover to resist. However, he quells his urges for now with a bit of grooming.

Verniece smiles sweetly at Simmons and grooms him back, unaware of what he's feeling but thinking of him as a friend nonetheless, while Hutch bounds around, squeaking happily.

I guess I'll take up Splash for now too, since Pancake hasn't been on for awhile.

Last up was Splash. She yawned loudly as Buckeye went over to groom her. With the whole group up, Buckeye decided it was time to lead her group out for foraging. She kept an eye on Verniece and Simmons, however. Simmons appeared to be sticking quite close to Verniece. With her pups coming soon, and the threat of mating by Simmons and other roving males, Buckeye has to make sure she keeps her family in check. After finding a suitable dig in their terriory, Buckeye stopped making her lead calls and dug furiously for breakfast, beckoning the others to join suit.

Verniece smiles sweetly at Buckeye, a bit confused. She would never disobey her leader, or do anything disloyal. Plus, she is much to young to mate or even begin to think about Dominance. She is grateful that they let her stay and give her brother and her the best possible life they could. She smiles at Simmons and then chirps to Hutch to follow as they head out foraging.

Simmons stays close to Verniece, but seeing that she is lsing interest in him, he backs off a bit. He also begins to forage, keeping a steady eye on the unattached female.

Slash began to paw at the ground, but felt that play-fighing with Hutch wuld be more fun. He pounced on the youngster, and the two rolled around in the dirt.

Buckeye found a huge scorpion and devoured it quickly. This meal would hold her over for quite some time. She began scent-marking the surrounding area, making sure other groups, like their arch-enemies, the Devils, wouldn't come around here looking for trouble.

ooc: She just doesnt know how he feels. lol

bic: Verniece smiles sweetly at Simmons and begins to dig.

Hutch squeals happily and paws at Splash.

ooc: I guess I'll have to put her othe characters: Clover, Inle, Cyan, Bohrok and Lewu up for adoption as well. Sigh. There's not enough active players.

bic: Keeko could see what was going on between Simmons and Verniece, and he couldn't help but smile to himself. He decided it would be best to leave it to Buckeye and steer clear of the situation. He climbed up a nearby bush, keeping an eye out for danger.

Simmons plucked up the courage and walked over to where Verniece was foraging. He began goming her, hoping to let him know of his intentions.

Buckeye was to preoccupied with her meal to notice Simmons advancing on Verniece.

Verniece smiled at Simmons then chrred, a bit unsure at the moment then slowly getting the idea. She chirps, looking at him, eyes a bit wide.

Seeing that Buckeye wasn't staring, Simmons began to groom Verniece heavily. He then walked over to a nearby bush, beckoning Verniece to follow.

Verniece was flattered by Simmons attempts but wasn't sure if this was what she wanted. She had been separated from her mob at a young age and the concept of mating wasn't of full understanding to her yet, so she followed.

Tuck climbed up out of the burrow. Despite being tired, he hadn't slept 100%, and he was stumbling around. He steadied himself, and gave a quick look towards Simmons and Verniece. Realizing that it wasn't really something he needed to see, he climbed up onto the bush beside Keeko, brushing against him to let him know he was there (So he wouldn't scare him later when he came down). He stood up on his hind legs, and stared off into the distance.

Seeing the new meerkat, Keeko jumped a little, his fur on end. But then he realised that the meerkat wasn't a threat, he calmed down. He chirped, and looked over to Buckeye, to see what she thought. He too had missed Simmons and Verniece heading towards the bush.

Noticing the new meerkat, Buckeye scent-marked him. Seeing that he wasn;t a threat, she allowed him to stay. With another male in the group, they would be even stronger; however, she had to make sure the other females in the group controlled their urges. At that moment, she realized that Verniece and Simmons were missing. She began to call for them.

Before giving into Simmons advances, Verniece heard Buckeye and rushed over, wondering if everything was okay.

Keeko growled quietly at Simmons, letting him know that he was taking things a little too far. He sat up, keeping an eye out for danger.

Simmons, seeing the new male and getting a stern growl from Keeko, began to forage at the edge of the group.

Buckeye, seeing Verniece and Simmons together, ran over and scent-marked her. She seemed t escape Simons advances for now, but she would have to keep an eye on the two of them for now. Well fed, she led the group away, including their newest member, toward Devils territory.

Not wanting to get left behind, Tuck caught up with Buckeye and lagged slightly behind her. He didn't want to step in front of her and cause any trouble. He sensed that they were headed in the direction of another territory, and got slightly nervous of what might happen. There was always the possibility that they may get hurt. Or worse... He shook his head as if to tell himself not to think troubled thoughts. He knew they would all come out okay... Hopefully...

Verniece frowned, she hadn't meant to. Worred, she grooms Buckeye before following her lead into the territory, while also keeping a close eye on Hutch since they could be fighting.

Finally taking notice of Verniece, Tuck slowed down and walked quietly beside her

Verniece smiles warmly at Tuck, and continues to follow Buckeye while also keeping an eye on Hutch. From now on she wants to make it clear she doesn't want to mate - she has a younger brother to look after, and she is doing all she can to be a loyal subordinate.
